The day we took our Bengal boy is a blessed day. We took Tigger on a re-home, because at 8 weeks he bullied all the animals in his first house. Very smart. Self entertaining, happiest cat I have ever known. We have given him toys that he finds boring very fast. Done with the laser pointer in 5 seconds. He is 2 1/2 years old weights 14 pounds. Never known a cat to have so much muscle. He is a one person cat and I am the one. The easy way to call him, is to turn the water on. To put it in one word, AWESOME 👍

I have a female Bengal, she's Tiny but so feisty.. I took her in because she was my moms and my mom passed away and at first she was terrified, wouldn't come out of hiding but after time she slowly got acclimated and now she's so loyal she sleeps with me and my husband every night, she follows me around wherever I go, She loves to play with literally everything especially those crinkle tubes they can run through. She loves water if I turn on the sink she's all about it lol. She doesn't like treats tho which I find funny. But the downside is she definitely bullies my other female cat My male cat puts her in her place But my female cat has never been around other cats before so the Bengal her name is sassi just bullies her. I feel awful and I'm not really sure what to do about it, I've tried spray bottles and time out but nothing so far has worked..

I have a Bengal mix. He was an "accident", his pure-breed Bengal mother had a secret love affair with with a cat from a nearby farmhouse. And he's a beauty. His coat is striped, he looks like a miniature Tiger. But just like pure-breed Bengals this little guy sometimes comes across like a hyperactive child that has had waaaay too much coffee given all the crazy things this little guy will sometimes do :-D

@@urmama5491 As is said in many places here on KZbin: If Bengal kitties were human children you'd likely describe them as being "hyperactive, had waaaay too much coffee and sugar". They are extremely active. I'd get a 2nd cat too so the Bengal has a playmate. You'll need to play a lot with your Bengal, let it spend all the energy it has. And you'll need to do that many times per day. If you don't then the Bengal will get "creative" and find other things that are "interesting", like climbing up your bookshelf and throwing stuff to the floor, to see how it shatters. They of course can also be very gentle and tender, e.g. my Bengal insists on hugging my feet or climbing up to my shoulders and taking a nap there when I watch TV. If having to constantly deal with a hyperactive cat sounds like something you won't be able to do, then maybe better get a different breed? My other cat is a Maine Coon. They are super chill and relaxed. "Gentle Giants". Extremely dog-like. My Maine Coon is the best "dog" I ever had. For me personally having a hyperactive Bengal and a super-chill Maine Coon is just perfect, the two balance each other out and they get along very well.

Yes I take my Bengal for walks. That means that she must return to her name (standard for my cats), she also responds to 'this way' (again standard). She will also come to where I tap, handy to get her out of trees. I am trying to teach her 'go home', so she knows that the walk has ended and its time for us to go home. She will walk from one of my arms to the other, to cross the bath when I am in the bath. She will also sit on my shoulder when I am crossing mud (or just wants a rest), when out on walks. I watch out for dogs when out walking but now Rose is aware of dogs long before I am, when we are walking. So she either climbs a tree (preferred option) or hides in the undergrowth.

Gosh, so true. I wanted a bengal since the beginning of middle school and got one a few years ago during my sophomore year. He likes drinking from the tap but doesn't like being wet himself, he also really Hates moving and anything outside. He's home, tis where he shall stay (other then the vets). Though I'm not sure if others are the same but mine has reaaaallllly bad anxiety. Can't pick him up, hold him, can't have closed doors, freaks out in carriers. But I can't complain, he's the perfect cat for me. He's incredibly intelligent and mischievous, he loves chicken, he is just spunky yet cuddly and gets along with all the other cats and dogs. I really got lucky with him, wouldn't trade my sunshine for the world uwu

Had the same problem with my kitten at the beggining and bought Russian Blue over a Bengal because they were supposed to be less allergy causing. As a Functional medicine therapist I can suggest two natural ways of supplementing if one doesnt want to take the pills. First would be increasing the vitamin C intake - it acts as antagonist to histamin. In higher doses like 2-5 grams a day (No more than 1 gram per 2 hours) it will keep the histamin levels down. If this isnt enough 300 mg of nettle can help a lot. I combined both for the first 3 months together with air purifier and after 3 months I no longer need the nettle and vit C. The good part about allergies it’s all in the mind (old survival part of the brain) so sometimes once having a new association with the cat and it’s allergens some like us get allergy free ;). I also saw food by Purina for cats now that decreases the proteins in their saliva. Haven’t tried it but studies are really promising. Mia really makes me want to get a Bengal now 🙈

Thanks for the Great advice. I suffer from very high histamine levels (cortisol, histamine, allergies). Ill start taking a lot of vit C again. Gradually increases.

I have one and she is adorable and very affectionate and demanding. I have to leave all the doors in the house open so that she can run around crazy. My advice is don't get a Bengal unless you are prepared to give the cat a lot of your time, attention and loving. My Bengal is more like a dog than a cat and was so easy to train to sit, give a paw and lie down. My Bengal is also very vocal to the point that when she has a bee in the bonnet she will let you know about it to the point she can drive me crazy but she always gets her way.

My Bengal is no lap cat but he does have his own chair so he can sit next to me as he does love attention and petting... Very smart, taught himself to use the toilet after watching it in use by following during his first few months. Loves water, loves his dog brother, and the other cats, but he is the alpha by far....He likes to be outside - on a leashed chain so he cannot wander too far but he tends to just hunt in the garden, and enjoy the sun. I agree with the video about the loyalty, but also destructive as they will jump up onto anything and "accidentally" in quotes as I've seen my boy when not getting his way purposefully knock things over and damage them. Yet often it is accidental. One of the best cats I have ever owned, only one who is resting in peace might have beat him for personality... He is my boy I love him dearly. A great cat, but yes, more demanding and no lap cat. However he is a cuddler still

You forgot “are bengal cats very vocal?”
@nateb44853 жыл бұрын
I cant speak for all bengals but mine is very vocal and I wish i knew that before I got him lol, thats the biggest drawback, he drives me nuts sometimes. Part of the problem is he doesnt like being couped up, if you have a large house, or you can take him/her for walks it wont be as bad. Also I tried first to just ignore him thinking that he would get better if he realized he wouldnt get a response from me, that didnt work it actually made it worse, turns out talking back to him gently when hes being very vocal is much better and he eventually stops. I used to let him roam outside as im somewhat rural, but someone ended up stealing him(i got him back after a month). But during that time, when he would come he wouldnt be meowing that much because he was getting so much exercise and mental stimulation outside, which proved to me the vocalisation really is about feeling pent up from lack of exercise and stimulation.

i literally have the same problem with my bengal cat. so many other foods apart from raw make him vomit. i found some canned wet food from chewys that he likes and can keep in. but dry food or any treats that i tried he throws up right after eating IF he eats it.

My bengal wanted to go outside and thought chewing the floor would achieve his goal.. We were all sleeping so now there is a huge hole by the door in the floor 😅 my bengal is the same he won’t touch the water unless it’s with his paw playing with the tap. He only drinks from running water to

What brand of harness is the turquoise one in your videos? Seems Mia does so well with it.

I do not like it so I am not going to recommend it to you :) I'm now using these 3 harnesses, all of them highly recommended hehe - Winter Harness - amzn.to/2KrDXTH - Escape Proof Harness - amzn.to/2Hj7G07 - Light Harness for Photography - amzn.to/2Kf7lfR The leash that I use the most: - Long Leash - amzn.to/3iLtBeL

Bonjour, I am seriously considering purchasing 2 adult Bengal cats (siblings and neutered and 2 years old) from an add online. The owner did advise me that because she is out of the house for long periods of time she wants to sell them to someone who will be able to give them the attention they desire. What I am worried about is that they might come to me with separation anxiety and might never bond with me. I would of preferred kittens but I also believe in giving adult cats a second chance in life. Am I making a big mistake of do I go for it. Is it also true that they don't like to be held and that they have to come to you.

My bengal cat is so stupid lol - he's such a himbo! I want him to be an adventure cat so badly, but I don't drive so he's not acclimatized to it and he absolutely HATES being in the car.

My bengal is super lazy. He is still young but damn... he sleeps for most of the day and all night long (I know because we sleep together) when I play with him, he just plays for 15 minutes and then he just lies on the floor and sleeps

Bengal cats are always between $1,500 and $3,000. Said this, the best way to make sure you are not paying a scammer, is going to the breeder in person, meeting them as well as their breeding cats. Also, respectful breeders have a bunch of google reviews you can review. If you go for a cheap and easy to get bengal, you are probably going to get scammed because they are scarce and expensive. Best of luck!

We got our two (male and female brother and sister) exactly five years ago from Bengal Brothers and they have been amazing and a joy. The brothers have been very honest throughout the whole process and even helped when we moved our kitties from NYC to London two years ago. I looked around a lot and didn’t feel safe with many catteries in the NY area. These guys were hands on and really care for their pets. Not sure if they have any buns in the oven, however. We waited a few months for ours. They are very adamant about not giving them over too young. Really recommend them.
