So modest Taku. I think the salad looked amazing. Fish skin croutons and ikura made it 👌. I loved seeing you hop around different rivers and do some fly fishing. Alaska is just gorgeous. The vibe of this video is definitely a nice change. Super relaxing. Every video is really just amazing in its own way.

Hey Bro.. get the slack line to yer fly reel as fast as possible every time you hook up with a fish.. The reel has a drag system for a reason, and you will play those fish much better from now on..🙌

Taku; you're not a novice fly fisher. Plus for an SF city fellow you can rough it with a smile in AK camping environs. Unfortunate that you did not get to Fairbanks as graying (12-15 inch) in the late '60's were very readily catchable in the upper Chena River (2nd bridge) on silver Hot Rod spoons. I love that crispy skin too.

Think need more than one fish for the two of you. While the salad is great, more fish per scoop is ideal. Bring aluminum foil n wrap the fish up n toss it on the fire. That's the south east Asian way.

couldn't wait for tomorrow, had to rewatch and thought of something when you flipped the board. how about some fish/crab print camping tablecloths?!? Also I keep wanting the see the back of the crab on the back of the shirts. Have fun up there for me!

That was awesome that you got to go to the Yukon Territory, in Canada, on your way to the other part of Alaska. I've never heard of that type of fish before, but it looks great with the way you grilled it, and also put it in a salad. It's also a bonus to get crispy fish skin. Cheers, Taku and Jocelyn! #TakuTuesday ✌️🇨🇦🇺🇸🎣

You need a bigger dry fly, and one weighted nymph. I would not go over 2.4 mm beadhead. Tie it to 18-24 in off the big foam dry, followed by the unweighted egg. definitley a valuable thing to understand more!

Good job Taku! I love it when your trying things outside the box. For the future, after you fillet the fish or butterfly in this case and you want to keep the skin on. The pin bones can be removed fairly easily by cutting down next to them without cutting through skin. Then run the top of your thumb nail between the cut pin bones and the skin from the back to the front of the fillet. They will come of the skin fairly easily. This is how I get boneless fillets of trout with the skin on for the smoker.

Love the videos but if I could make a recommendation I’d recommend getting a net with rubber netting your flies won’t get stuck nearly as easy and just Incase you catch a fish you don’t wanna keep the rubber net also doesn’t wipe off nearly as much slime off the fish like the fabric nets do . Thanks so much for sharing all your adventures!

I been an outdoorsman all my life pretty much and have never once filleted a trout. All I ever do is fry the whole fish in corn meal. I have caught and ate thousands of them. Makes a damn good breakfast too. Your not doing to bad with the fly rod man. It takes years to learn it. Your using an over complicated setup though. Makes it hard to cast.
