Pedal strike city! I would have gone through several sets of pedals on that ride. Excellent technique. Serious climbing, switchbacks that just didn't look like any fun at all! Coming down sure made it all seem worthwhile though! Enhanced my faith in short travel setups. Nice clear weather, looked like it might have been a little chilly. Great collab! Looking forward to the next one!

Thanks a bunch Ol' Roy MTB!!! and etc. You are not kidding, I've gone through a lot of pedals and rear derailleurs on this trail! It doesn't matter how many times you ride this trail, you are still going to draw the strikes!

It never ceases to amaze me what can be done on modern short-travel bikes thanks to geometry and component changes. And of course, rider talent. :) I'll be in your neck of the woods Wednesday through Saturday, RC. Hope you told bad weather to stay away!

I love it that you guys show the dabs et al. Most MTB videos are nothing but "perfection and success", which we mere mortals will never achieve. And the commentary is terrific too.....great tips and rider comments. Please keep up the great work, humility, and superb riding!! :-)

Thanks JD Dallager! hahaha you nailed it! I dont want anybody to get the wrong idea, I still have a long ways to go in mtb, my policy on dabs and what not depends on the flow of the video and time savings. I like to include my failures as long as it doesn't take up too much time on the video, for me the more the better lol hahaha

Great vid, Moore Fun is the best! I love that you two rode this as an out and back! It’s such a brutally rewarding trail. I vote short travel but I’m completely bias as I have never been on a long travel. My main do everything from xc to park is a short travel full squish fatty; 100 front and back on 26x4.
@nealslatter61255 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed that, great to see what well ridden short travel bikes can do on techy terrain, not that we’ve got any deserts here in the UK, but plenty of techy riding. Been on 27.5 bikes for a good while but got the urge to try a short travel 29er like a Smuggler, like the look of the Yeti but so expensive! Keep up the good work👍🏻
@OutdoorGold5 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah Neal! There’s no shortage of techy riding, real mountain biking features in the UK! Ive been impressed with how the short travel 29ers sharpened my skills! Fun bikes!

Man, this just makes it even harder for me to figure out what bike to get next. I've toyed with the idea of getting a Pivot Trail429 but the rear shock on it looks so tiny! I'm pretty sure I'd blow through its travel on anything larger than a baseball...

I think in this case, it being a demo, people + carwashes, that the primary reason on this bike. #2 very fine dirt/sand, I have yet to own or ride a bike in Fruita where I'm not cleaning some on the linkage or the headset after every two rides in dry times to prevent the clicking. #3 press fit bottom brackets. I HATE PF bottom brackets! lol

@@OutdoorGold It was definitely coming from the stem/headset on the Yeti I rode in Moab. My buddy just had to get a new stem on his Pivot after it was making noise, and come to find out it was all corroded and falling apart!
