@@OutdoorSolutions Greg, I've booked two Elk hunts through Lindsay with y'all in NM - both successful a smaller 5x5 and a nice 6x6 taken on the last day in the last half hour of daylight - EXCITING to say the least. I also attended one of your Montana 'Field to Table' for Pronghorn. I have hunted all my life here on the east coast and have prepped and butchered my deer for years but the two chefs taught me things I never knew. May I say to all who read this, it was WELL WORTH every penny in fun and knowledge gained. Y'all are top notch and on my list to be the first to call when I want a guided hunt again.

Thanks Brother… Damn good 👍 information and trigger pull. Makes since about what you said about guys using higher caliber rifle’s. Anticipating that recoil and trying to compensate without even thinking 💭 about it. Damn throw you off target 🎯 every time. That advice going to save me big time in the wallet. As 338 Lapua costing $5 a shot now. Semper Fi

@@OutdoorSolutions That’s outstanding… Keep it going😉. As you already know the Marine Corps stopped the Scout Sniper program…. I fell in love with the skill craft as a Infantrymen and hung out outside the school 🏫 room in Okinawa. Most my buddies on Active Duty were Scout Snipers. Love ❤️ Love ❤️ Love ❤️

I didn't catch whether there is any pressure exerted by the thumb. does it just rest on the grip while the three fingers apply the pressure? BTW, I really like your videos. No hype, Just good technique advice.

Hey Craig, thanks for watching, we are glad you like the videos. I would say there is really not pressure applied with the shooting thumb, just a light grip and a little more firmness with your three fingers. Hope that helps.

Great video... but why work the whole bolt when a simple up and down on the bolt handle will cock the gun?

Lol good question. Purely habit/muscle memory.

I like shooting long-range with air rifles, meaning 100 yards to 200 yards. I have an air rifle that can shoot inch groups at 100 yards, which is perfect for can shooting. I can easily hit a can on the first try, but when I have someone else who is less experienced, it takes them three shots. It's interesting because I tell them how to position their finger on the trigger and so on, yet it feels like I'm doing nothing different. I end up hitting more accurately, so it's cool to think that I have developed muscle memory, and I don’t even realize it. I even do it when I pick up a gun; my finger never touches the trigger, and I never even knew I was doing it. It's just really cool! I even flick the safety without realizing then I go to shoot a second shot and Im like why isnt it working.

I'm 1 of those guys with trigger trauma. ..I've been working on this problem for a few weeks. What do you suggest to help beat this? I'm using snap caps right now and working on aim and trigger control but I still get the shakes and have a nasty flinch
@OutdoorSolutions
@OutdoorSolutions Жыл бұрын
Keep working with your snap caps and use the techniques in this video and the other videos in this series. If you have them, start with a small caliber, 22 is an awesome training rifle, then work hour way up to your hunting/range rifle. What caliber are you hunting/training with?
