Outer Banks: Chase Stokes Is Madelyn Cline’s ‘Biggest Fan’ After Split (Exclusive)

The Pogues are setting out on another treasure hunt in Season 3 of “Outer Banks”! “Extra’s” Rachel Lindsay sat down with stars Chase Stokes, Rudy Pankow and Jonathan Daviss to dish on what’s in store for John B, JJ and Pope. Chase also opened up about working with Madelyn Cline, who plays his love interest Sarah Cameron, after their real-life split. “Outer Banks” Season 3 premieres February 23 on Netflix.

You can tell that chase and Madelyn aren’t friends, but they are professional and mature costars who didn’t let their breakup affect the show or the script.. chase saying he will always be madelyns biggest fan inside and outside the show is just him supporting his costar, because Madelyn makes it clear that they’re just professional and mature costars and that’s pretty much it. She praised the whole cast all in all and never specifically just talks about chase. She was also asked about her on and off screen relationship with chase in an interview she did august 2022, and she only mentions them being professional and doing their jobs.. Also in the teen vogue video they all did as a cast, you can visibly see how awkward it is 😅

Would have loved to hear Pankow's answer on where he wants to get his character past season 3, where he sees him, what does he personnaly wants for JJ... Didn't have the chance, tho. I don't know if Luke is in season 3, but if not, I want season 4 to be in Yucatan. We're hearing of this place/plan since season 1 from both Maybank, so... I'm down for a little father/son reconcialiation (as much as it is possible) and a few robbery along the way 🤪🤑 Plus, I love hispanic music!

They aren’t friends, you call tell from the teen vogue video the cast did all together. They are just professional and mature costars and that’s it. Chase just is supporting his costar like he does for his other costars. Madelyn made it clear it’s just they’re just civil costars and mentioned that they didn’t let the breakup affect the script, but nothing about being friends.

To service the characters and land the plane well, maybe creators should consider to stop action packing this show and do a little 'back to the start' character développement? Like I rewatched season 1 and 2, and I can't help but feel like the characters are now starting to become a cliché, half of what they were supposed to actually be or represented, instead of growing deeper... Must be sad for an actor to not fully develop a character you so dearly brought to life, because you're too busy doing stunts with your double and following a blockbuster narrative? I saw some of Pankow's short films and now I'm just craving more drama, I guess... Dreaming to see him casted as Abel Teller in a SOA sequel lol

"will fans get what they want" why dont we just make good television and stop worrying about what teens on twitter have to say about the direction of a show for once. these writers always lean into heteronormativity when requested but they ignore genuinely unique view points that would tell a better story, or introduce inclusivity that would result in something actually interesting and draw in a wider audience. jjpope should've been explored, as should've kiara's sexuality because the girl is NOT straight.

i get what ur trying to say here, but essentially the jjpope ship is also just another fan idea from twitter which evolved simply because people want lgbtq representation. not because it was 'visible' in the show. jiara however was something that was not intentional but their chemistry could be picked out from viewers, and it seemed legitimate. hence why there is such a big hype about it, because it seemed authentic from the first season onwards. inclusivity from kie's sexuality could still be explored, but all in all i dont think ur recommendations for a 'better story' would draw in a wider audience just because u prefer it
