It was very cool that Jack’s dad could go with us. He remembers the Outer Banks back before there were any tourist areas built up. It was just beaches, a few beach houses, and some lighthouses. So it was fascinating showing him how it looks now. It is amazing that they moved a lighthouse. I can’t even imagine how you would be able to do that. Thanks so much for watching our video of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We are glad you enjoyed it!

I'd like to comment on the correct pronunciation. 🤣 I couldnt resist. I love the old pictures of Jack's dad and his family. I'd be afraid to climb the lighthouse too but love to see it. We seen sea turtle nests when we went to Anna Maria Island in Florida. My brain can't process how you move a lighthouse. Bummer the beach was crazy windy. Kite surfing is fascinating. That takes serious talant. Awesome video.

LOL. We have had a couple videos where we pronounced something correctly (and we know because we asked people who would know) and people still popped up to tell us it was wrong. Oh well. It was really cool to take Jack’s dad around to places he hadn’t seen in decades. And he showed us all those pictures when we got back so we had to include them! Moving a lighthouse is not a thing I would want to try. It was a very slow move. Twenty three days to move something a couple thousand feet. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it!

Now that's a beach!!!! We have a new love of light houses now. The Outbanks are officially on our list after watching all of these videos from you guys. I love the throw back photos of your dad. For your narration, do you script it? For ours, I just say what I'm thinking. But you guys do 100% voiceover!!! You guys are so good with it. Tallest or largest, we are always in.
@trvlnthru3 жыл бұрын
Yes, we usually script the narration. We found that without a script, we were often saying "um" and "uh" as we thought of what we wanted to say next. When we just say what we are thinking we sometimes leave out details we wanted to include or go off on a tangent that really doesn't match up with the point of the video. So we often do use scripts recorded in our home office after our trip has ended. You always do a great job with your narration too. It seems you are really comfortable just saying what you and your family are experiencing as you go on your adventures. Thanks for watching!

Pronouncing places is always a fun thing to do especially if you're a visitor, we have the same challenges! Great to see the older pictures and super filming and narration from you guys! Thanks so much, kind regards, Simon😎👍
@trvlnthru3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, pronunciation isn't always the easiest in areas we aren't familiar with. So we usually do ask someone in the area who should know the correct pronunciation. But we still occasionally get comments from people trying to correct us. Which we don't mind if it is done politely. But on a previous video, there was an argument in the comments from people about how to pronounce something. Which doesn't really seem helpful. Anyway, everyone can pronounce things however they'd like and we'll keep doing our best. Thanks so much for watching and leaving such kind comments!

Crazy that they can move a light house. I can barely move my couch 😂 So much history in this area for sure.
@trvlnthru3 жыл бұрын
It really doesn't make sense that they moved that giant lighthouse. Apparently from what we learned, it was very boring to watch it move once they lifted it up onto the moving platform. Like it was really slow. Almost imperceptible movement down the road at times. Pretty amazing that they pulled it off.
