Been going to church my whole life. This is the most real prayer I’ve ever heard even though it isn’t real. Brutally honest.

Josh Brolin is so good here, you can really feel his anger, frustration, and desperate cry for hope.

This is an actual prayer, a lamentation. Just a man, his faith and his frustration and anger. Bravo Josh Brolin!
@josephalmani1812 Жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts. Even this is a form of worship because even though he is telling God he hates him in this moment he is still with God. God asks that we bring our pain and confusion to him and even our anger. It also shows how a man of little to no faith is brought to the brink of time and space by the void he has discovered and he has no choice but to look to a higher power. Something powerful about that. Huge fan.

Legit had to search this up just to see the comment section hype it up. Unfortunately not many comments. Brolin absolutely destroyed in this scene. I could feel the anger and pain so much. It was like I was sitting at the table as a family member in there situation. The way they filmed it too like we are standing/sitting at the edge of the table. just an epic scene

it's brilliantly done. hope it gains popularity.

I came here for the same reason. Great acting by Brolin in this scene. I loved the poker scene between him and Autumn in episode 4 as well.. Very well done Loving the show!

This is one of the absolute greatest scenes in TV history. The grunting before another sentence to show how frustrating it is to lose THAT much control and to be in THAT much need of faith. Havin to speak to an idea you hate and needing it to be real. THERE IS A GREAT VOID

I can watch this over and over. It is an acting master class in humanistic realism. The way he grunts, slowly moves burning from asking for assistance,then an explanation, turning to rage because he accepts that he is talking to an imaginary concept of a creator.

Couple years back I was doing online Surveys and somehow was selected to read two spec scripts and give my opinion on them. One was this, the other was the "I know what you did last Summer" pilot. I remember I wrote back to the Ikwydls guys and basically just said "Change everything, or don't make this a show." Was unsurprised to hear it got cancelled. My advice to these guys was to "Change nothing, hell, go all out with it." And its kinda heartwarming to see they listened. Im sure the part I played was insignificant, but still.

I've not seen too much of Brolin's films but damn is he a phenomenal actor. This show is so amazing. Not a lot of big names but everyone supports each other and feed off each others energy. I literally think about this scene all the time. Something about it was so riveting and the frustration behind his words, amazing

Sad that many Germans will watch such (& alot of other great movies & series from the U.S. etc.) only with a german Dub. Alot of Germans say it is very well done but common, like for this example Germans tend to translate the words, but not the meaning, the vibe, the whole pacing. This for also often incorrect. The word might be right but not in a certain conversation & often not what was meant. This series is very different when watching with german dub. Counts for alot other stuff too where something like dark humor in a movie/series turns into literal annoying drama instead of a good laugh 🤣 Also love the slow interactions this series has like Royal is aware what he wants to reveal when he is opening his mouth & what not. Thinking before speaking appears alot in Outer Range & takes time. Love it. Thanks for the upload.

Searched this based off of a conversation from a podcast I watch by former pastor Tim Ross called “the basement”… wowed. This is exactly what The Good Lord meant when He said to “COME AS YOU ARE”! Most think attire, like clothes of some sort. But it’s the heart… it’s where you are in life, coming with honesty and truth. He will meet you right there. 🥹✨
