Nice job creating the patch for the outer sill. I definitely don’t feel confident enough to attempt that. Yours turned out pretty darn good!

Thank you. I referenced the Fitzee's Fabrications KZbin channel a lot during the whole process. His methods are very straightforward and he uses simple tools for most of the work he shows... definitely worth watching.

You made the panel wider, and then the lip wider, I'm glad you mentioned Fitsee in a previous video! He's an absolute wizard. Is that compressed air to cool the welds? How many hours do you think you spent on that fabrication? It looks fine, I would be proud of that work for sure.

I used the compressed air to cool the panels after four or five spot welds. That reduces the chance of warping the panels as you go. I probably took three or four hours to do the first side. That would include making the cardboard template, cutting and bending the panel pieces and then the welding and finishing. Probably took an hour less to do the second one as I had a fairly good idea what to do.

Nicely done Ian. You are getting really proficient with that mig! I agree, Fitzee is a master with the sheet metal. Someone said if you gave me him two bumpers he could build the rest from scrap in his garage!

Looking great! What is that poster to your left in the introduction?

Thanks Trevor. The poster is a cutaway of a Bugeye that was among the bits and pieces that came with the car. I've seen them on e-bay occasionally.
