It's absolutely hilarious how people who play video games regularly approach this game. You're so used to just sort of blithely doing things and then having the game explain to you what you did. A game that actually wants you to pay attention and question the world and remember information you've been told is just utterly baffling. I was in exactly the same boat and I actually had to restart because I was so overwhelmed by all the information -- names, planets, bits of the planets I don't understand, etc., etc. I restarted and realised it had been directly telling me to do things I'd done via dumb luck, and I'd missed incredibly obvious stuff. There's no real point in restarting other than it forced me to revisit places I wasn't. I haven't tested this, but I would bet almost anything that, zero-g flight aside, non-videogame players would actually find this game easier because they haven't picked up bad habits. Examples in this video of this phenomenon: you can pick up scrolls, so being a video game player, you assume there must be some reason the game is letting you do that and it's a clue that you need to do something with them. Similarly, the projection stone can be moved, so you're busy trying to solve the puzzle of what the stone does as opposed to just looking at what it projects and taking a guess as to why it's showing that. The "gaslighting trees" were noticed and you were told to look at the stone that was causing them to move, but you didn't and just sort of moved on because there wasn't an obvious, in-game thing to interact with. I think I did all of those things.

The beginning of your Brittle Hollow exploration was INSANE bad luck - 2x collapsing ground + 1x lantern jumpscare? And then the autopilot sabotage LMAO

That lantern scene did not only kill her, it killed me, too. 😆

"this isn't mario galaxy" 😂 this playthrough has already been wild, most people who do let's plays of this are variety streamers, puzzle game streamers etc, it's great to see a goated souls player come in with all the bravado and aggression and just try stuff without being tentative, it's a fresh take on playing it and I love it

"this isn't Mario galaxy, this is subnautica" is such an apt description. Yeah there's pretty environments but the existential fear the comes from being in WAY over your head in an environment that will kill you and keep on going as if you never existed is unique.

Every death you've had is insane bad luck. I don't even know how you do...

Tell your editor they can add a timer in post, use it for whatever they need to, and then remove it.

If you feel interested at all, I highly recommend playing it for yourself before watching others do it! It's a game that can only be played once

Well, Slate did tell you the autopilot avoidance system would be fixed for the next ship. uh. Sorry.

I loved the trophies for this game. The making it to the core by flying 10k m/s is ba.

Another thoroughly incurious player. "Was I supposed to read that? I don't care" Fuck that 🤭

I don't know guys how are you watching her. She's annoying, always not happy and sometimes insincerely pretends to be surprised or interested.

@tumultuousv I don't argue, it's just that for me she's a terrible streamer
