Yeah, you have to account for the safest route yourself and then use the autopilot to get to the planet in a safe way.

Hahaha...I started the game yesterday and that was exactly my first experience. Though I still haven't found out how to fix my ship in space. Every time I go off board, it keeps floating around and I can't reach it properly or even get back in, so I allways either crash on a planet or just run out of air.

Definitely like the concept of the game but really struggling with the controls. Come to find out I didn't notice ONE button, the one that aligns you to the speed of the thing you're targeting, which only makes the game about 100,000% easier. It's a lot to take in in the first few minutes of game tutorials. one minute I'm in a safe little room, next I'm trying to do the thing while my broken ship is hurtling at ludicrous speeds towards the sun.

Same thing here. Wanted to love the game so much but kept getting annoyed with not being able to do the simplest things. Like just flying around a planet and looking for something while struggling with controls, oxygen depleting, and the big timer ticking. Very frustrating.

I'm 12 hours into this game, have visited most every planet, found most of the hidden things to observe and absolutely do not enjoy the game anymore as I don't know what else to do. I will take your tip 10 and revisit that explorer, maybe the menu option I need to gain is what's holding me back.

Another really useful advice is to learn to use the tools, the Scout launcher and Signalscope.

And remember that the Signalscope can also be used as a telescope -- This becomes crucial for one particular puzzle near the end of the game.

It does say it in the game description and in the trailer I believe, so it's not really a spoiler, although I'd agree that as a surprise it was awesome and I'd always advice people to go into the game completely blind, not even the trailer! I think it was a mistake on the part of the devs/marketing team to reveal it like that, but at the same time I can see how it's also a hook to get people to play the game in the first place. PP Label is not wrong, it is a game mechanic, but this game has a lot of game mechanics that are intended to be discovered by playing; I won't mention any specifics here of course but the supernova could have been one of them like it was for me.

I’m about 20 hours in, just realized how to get to the tower of quantum knowledge, yet still don’t understand how to land on the quantum moon. The first tip in the anti-frustration video is not to get upset at dying because you have to die a lot. I think the gist of the game is failure will lead you to success, every time I die I learn something new, or I look at it as a checkpoint, I learn something, and it will tell me to go to a new planet, I explore the planet as the sun is about to explode, then I use the death to head to the other planet. Also it could be you, depending how you see the game, and if you like difficulty or not.

The tips were great so thank you for that, but I feel that was a pretty big spoiler. As soon as you showed that I immediately figured out that no matter if you don't die you will always get killed by the supernova at the end, and I imagine the objective of the game is figuring out how to save our people from it. I had just first figured out how to fly the ship and wanted some tips on it so I went to youtube, and again, great tips, but I am very disappointed I won't get to experience the supernova for the first time without knowing its gonna happen.

That's not a spoiler, it's just part of the game description. If someone told you that Days Gone has multiple playable parts of the map to progress to, or that Subnautica requires you to discover and learn about alien technology, you wouldn't get all emotional about those facts, would you? Because if you would, then it's your own perceptions and expectations that need adjusting, not the entire world around you.

So, I’m trying to get into this game. But, it seems like a punishing game. You have to die frequently in order to figure out how to play. It’s a failure and frustration simulator. I’m guessing the reason people like it so much is because eventually, your massive frustration is relieved. It just may not be a game for you. It’s only about exploration. The knowledge you gain each play through is how you learn details/hints about planets. It’s just about digging for clues and lore. Maybe that’s just not something you enjoy. I am ravenous about the game because I’m the type to read every hint and talk to every single NPC
