I have a cold Steele recon tanto to since the nineties. It has been to 17 different countries with me. I cut a car tire off it’s rim. I have put the blade though a car door as well. That knife is life insurance policy.

They discontinued the warcraft line in CPM-3V & G10 to low-end 4034 steel & cheap GRN scales.

I really wanted Cold Steel to go back to their roots.The Engage model would have been great in an EDC size3.25 inch blade,a large in 4 inches+ and an XL size 5 inches+.As well would have been great to see some of their fixed blades in CPM Magnacut steel.Come on Cold Steel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 7-inches version Warcraft Tanto with CPM-3V. 3V has top 2 toughness among steels in the world with high hardness (HRC 59) and moderate stainless ability. Made of 3V, you definitely can say Cold steel Warcraft Tanto is a warrior knife! I have no idea why Cold steel a softer version for Warcraft with 4034 steel?? I don't like to be a warrior softer (HRC 55).

Damn, I don't think I saw a single positive comment down here in the comment section. Cold Steel, you might want to figure that out. I haven't had a chance to try out the new stuff since the buyout. Sounds like everyone's worst fear about Lynn's retiring is becoming a reality. Damn.

Cold Steel Knives were my favorite knife company since the late 1980s, but I'm not digging this GSM buyout era. However, I am somewhat interested in that new grey Spartan folder w/ serrations.

Not as big a fan of cold steel as I used to be. I own 3 and all are good knives. But the sell. And change of the lock. They have a lot to prove. And some big shoes to fill.

The thing thats holding me back from buying any of these knives is their warranty dept, Ive been hearing nightmare stories online, had a bad experience with a bad grind myself on a 1917 that came in duller than a butter knife where I didnt even feel comfortable sending it in after many e mails and miscommunication where I kept getting different answers and late to no responses, I didnt think Id get it back so I didnt send it to TX. Long story short if I am going to buy anything these days I want to know that they are going to have a good return/repair warranty, Cold Steel now you might be stuck with any problems you have out of the box so its a no go for me. Also I dont like the fact that noone will say the engage was the drifter and noone will mention it like its a secret, I also dont like the atlas lock, which is an inverted shark lock but lacks the action a shark lock has.

I have had a similar issue as yourself with a 1917 Frontier. - It was dull. - The wooden handle was black from the oil and missing a washer. - The leather strap that holds the frog is crooked They finally replied after about a month and a half then was told to call them which I never did...but I think I will. So my first Cold Steel purchase was a bit of a let down. PS - Those two little dinky welds holding the guard doesn't look promising either. (;

Tri-ad lock all the way. Also, this is no excuse for bad quality control but you should learn how to sharpen a blade before you invest in it

@@demo2952 I agree and yeah I can sharpen a knife but try sharpening one of the 1917 with basic handheld stones and a small diamond slate, its not that fun without a belt grinder on a blade that big. I got it acceptable to me but does it have an edge like my marauder, voyager, manix2, no it doesnt, its frustrating that I scratched the blade blue finish a little on a brand new knife, the oil all over the handle was disgusting i felt like i was unwrapping a used rubber.Windlass.

Raymond Knight try dipping the blade into boiling apple cider vinager. That should re-blue it for you. I know what you are saying. The qc is mostly with their bread and butter products. I miss Lynn Thompson at the helm. All of their tomahawks are so obtuse too. I often have to take them to a grind wheel.

Cold steel needs more scadi grind bushcraft knifes..I want the finn wolf with a thicker handle,larger blade a XL, upgraded STEEL, different shape like a Spear point AND PLEASE NO GIMPPINGS ON KNIFES.

LTWK are very good knives but only been interested in there larger scandi knives, sospes and illuminous 5. The Gen 6 is not my style to thin they should of made it like the illuminous 5..but hopefully a illuminous 6 will come out with a high scandi grind and a 6.5in blade.

if you need your knife to endure so much force, you probably doing things in a wrong way, or asking a flipper blade to do the work of a pry-bar... just get a proper tool or, use a fixed blade... breaking flipper knives is not a desirable point, this fad looks like the pepper fad, the more hotness better thing, "I can break my flipper knife bro!" "i can eat more pepper than you bro" ... yall gonna end up with 2 pound flipper knives and crapping blood from ghost peppers...
