Outgoing Qantas CEO faced ‘tough questioning’ from senators

Sky News host Rita Panahi says Qantas CEO Alan Joyce appeared at a cost-of-living Senate Committee and after waffling on for some time, the outgoing CEO faced some “tough questioning” from a number of senators.
“There were also questions about flight credits, Qatar Airways being denied extra capacity by the Albanese government, and we also had Alan Joyce bizarrely refusing to answer a yes or no question about the chairman's lounge,” Ms Panahi said.
“He wasn't asked to name who he had offered memberships to just whether any other politician's family member had been given the privilege extended to Anthony Albanese's 23-year-old son, a university student given access to an exclusive lounge that’s normally reserved for captains of industry, politicians and A-list celebrities.”

What an absolute bargain for the PM get into the Chairman's lounge in return gets protection from competition and the very same Qantas is announcing higher prices for flights. Have nothing negative about the ground level staff but the management is a disgrace and you the customer is getting screwed over in prices and choice.

we used to be ceo of 2 fortune 500 intl airlines.. of course we gave vip memberships to politicians families.. who wouldn't.. why is that even a question and why is it so difficult to answer.. both sides are just being silly.. we used to give free flights or free upgrades to 100s if not 1000s of special groups.. including police and firemens families or cancer patients and families,, when asked or needed..etc etc... its good PR and good business.. i cant speak for quantas.. but we were ranked in the top 3 airlines worldwide for service for decades.. now im just a country doctor in sicily and aftikka
