An old friend recommended the book many years ago, she said it would be a great temporary escape and that I would understand some things she was trying to say better, but I never got to read it. Years went by and we parted ways, and I came across the series and the name seemed familiar but I didn't connect the dots til way later in the series.. I finally understood what she was trying to say, and it breaks my heart not being able to tell her that I do. If the future is indeed written then I hope it holds another meeting for us. "how careful we would be if we knew which goodbye is our last".

I just realized that this soundtrack might represent life's circle. The soft melody at the beginning is birth, a new child coming to the world, amazed by everything surrounding it, like a seed falling on the earth. The part with the drums is childhood, the adventure that is growing up and the innocent energy of the child, when the seed grows into a bud. When the drums come to a halt is the teenage years, where the youngster is paying more attention to the world and establishing their own view, like a bud that has began to flower. The peak of the soundtrack when we hear the violins and the drum is the early adulthood, around the twenties and thirties, when the youngster is at the peak of his own life, more matured, more experienced and independent, with more than enough energy to build its own legacy. By this point, the bud has become a beautiful flower, that's spreading seeds of their own. When the melody calms again with the sound of the flute we have reached late adulthood (fourties, fifties and early sixties), when the person has had many experiences and tries to make sense of them all, gaining wisdom. By this point, the bloom is seeing the buds it planted flowering, while its splendour turns less vigorous due to aging. When the melody starts dying out at the sound of violins and that soft voice we've reached old age, when the person has found some rest after experiencing an intense life, and the flower starts losing its petals. When the music stabilizes and ends softly at the sound of a rather dark, sad but peaceful and strangely glorious melody of violoncels there's death. The plant has finally reached its end and turned to dust.

I do not understand your question but...from my experience of listening to this song, it just resonated audibly at an aesthetic level. I do not know if you are familiar with the different range of brain waves when listening to specific types of music. My son's headphones are top of the line stereo amplified and allowed me to hear the fine detailing of all the instruments playing, and the pitch of the singer's voices literally made my hair stand up and gave me goosebumps! I would say that my brain was in an enhanced Alpha state: 7.5-14 HZ, which is the deep relaxation wave. I had a floating cloud sensation, the music went through me like a drug! To simplify what I am saying, it was a complete rush...not all music can do that, but it is quite magical when you come across compositions that do touch your inner core.

Sing me a song of a lass that is gone Say, could that lass be I? Merry of soul she sailed on a day Over the sea to Skye Give me again all that was there Give me the sun that shone Give me the eyes, give me the soul Give me the lass that's gone Sing me a song of a lass that is gone Say, could that lass be I? Merry of soul she sailed on a day Over the sea to Skye Billow and breeze, islands and seas Mountains of rain and sun All that was good, all that was fair All that was me is gone Sing me a song of a lass that is gone Say, could that lass be I? Merry of soul she sailed on a day Over the sea to Skye

Just amazing...

My ex girlfriend introduced me to this tv show and books... After we broke up i couldn't watch the show or read the books anymore, it all reminded me of her, and stills today xD such a great story we had thanks to Outlander.

Gerade hab ich die Musik getanzt gesehen, - hab kommentiert, daß ich mir wünschte, jemand könne mir näheres zur Musik sagen. Und prompt, kaum 30 Sekunden später, wird mir der Titel im Netz offeriert. Danke Internet!!! Langsam passt Du dich meinen Gehirnwellen an...!!

Amo la musica celta, armoniza mi vida y todo lo que rodea, Autlander es una serie que atrapa, y uno siente a travez de sus paisajes, la ambientacion y la musica que viaje en el tiempo.
