So, so, important topic to talk about! Thank you Sam for sharing your journey with disordered eating, I myself have struggled with anorexia, and I feel like it can be awkward to talk about even among girls. I can only imagine the peer pressure not to talk about it among guys due to society's dumb standards for guys to "just put on a strong face" and "keep your feelings locked deep inside your heart". At the end of the day, we're all human beings with valid struggles and emotions, and I think opening up about it is the opposite of showing weakness. It takes great strength and bravery to go against how society tells you to be in order to heal and stay true to yourself. I can assure you that you've helped a lot of people by talking about it, including me!

There’s not really a need to qualify an eating disorder as low level. Disordered eating is disordered eating and no matter what “level” it is perceived to be, the person needs and deserves help. Qualifying the severity of something could discourage people from asking for or receiving help.

Sam was gracious as always but I thought the interviewers were clumsy and ill-prepared. For goodness sake they didn't know he has a whiskey line and when he said the name "Sassenach" they didn't recognize it as being from Outlander - dead giveaway that they don't watch the show. And lastly, the comment that Sam is too old to play 007 now - wow...how old does he think Sam is??? They should have known that Sam has been mentioned as being in the running. Actually, Dylan Dreyer, seated next to Sam, did know the show and the word “Sassenach.” The other two didn’t. Sam is the one who said he might be too old now for Bond role. The current rumors are that the Bond franchise may be looking for someone in his 20s or 30s. Sam is 42, although he is certainly capable of the role, both in his acting skills, his athletic ability to do his own stunts and with an insane amount of good looks!

Another reason for honesty. Just admit you haven’t watched it. It’s not a personal attack, they have busy careers, families, lives, and maybe it’s not their thing. They can still promote it and do the interview successfully. They can’t be personally connected to every guest. On the other hand, the producers knew they were going to ask the question about his business endeavors so they should have done rudimentary homework and known the connection to Outlander.
