I wish they would! The intro for the first half of the current season 7 was horrible (IMO) I usually listen to the intro because I love the different variations, but this year was so bad I cringed every time I heard it.

She fought for our human rights..horrific issues that people were fighting everyday They mattered to her. That pain you heard ,we all heard in her version. Was the loss she felt that only mothers feel. When she lost her loving teen son to suicide just the year before.

What I said was only referring to the singing style, not the person! Just because they were this great amazing person in life doesn't mean I have to like the way they sing! Just like you probably have artists whose singing style you don't like. I stated in my comment this is IMO (aka In My Opinion) which I am entitled to have, regardless of whether you choose to be offended about it, because that's a you problem. Maybe YOU should stop taking offense to every little thing before you make a fool of yourself! I am a mother, it's terrible that her son took his life, and no parent should ever have to bury their baby. But, again In My Opinion, pain and sorrow are not what come to mind FOR ME when hearing this version.

I finally visited Culloden in 2013 as it has always drawn me and spoken to me, even from the other side of the world, and the overwhelming feeling of the site itself is beyond. At the risk of sounding like a kook….I have to say that I’m an Empath, i.e. I feel the resonance of places of great emotional impact…but I could never describe what I felt standing on that spot that day…the land itself seems to hold the emotions of a time gone by, a great battle fought and lost, the lives of so many people just gone (on both sides). Absolutely heartbreaking… I stood there on Culloden Moor and just cried for over an hour but couldn’t articulate to my husband the great loss I felt in my soul. 😭 There are some places I just can’t go….the below ground areas at the Tower of London, sections of Edinburgh Castle, and so many other places in England, Scotland and Wales (my ancestral homelands)… I just tend to freeze on the spot, start shaking and can’t help but move away from …but for some reason Culloden let me in… I don’t know why, but it has to be the saddest place I’ve ever stood in my life. 😭 The Isle of Skye is also a place of great resonance for me, both good and bad, so Skye Boat Song always hits my heart.

Very poignant that you should release this this week as British folk singer Roger Whittaker passed away. He made this song famous in the UK in the 80s as a duet with Des O'Connor. Many kids like me in the 80s sung this song at school.

I was sitting motionless just listening for the first half of the song before I was able to start moving again. OMG! I knew that this was going to be absolutely epic but I never expected this level of perfection. And the footage you used is absolutely stunning. Especially the battlefield of Culloden and the Fraser gravestone. Gave me massive chills. They should definitely use your version for the the rest of the OUTLANDER show.
