I know that those looks are very convincing, they are hard to fake, but actors can perform any emotion perfectly. First, thanks to Sandra for the lovely video. So strap yourselves in folks, here comes a really long entry which I hope you won't mind. I am indulging myself here because I clearly get the feeling that this YT channel, Sandra, is quite smitten with the couple and sees the same thing we are all seeing. I have been giving this a lot of thought: why am I, like other die hard fans, having the same out-of-the-ordinary, ridiculously strong, reaction to the show, the story and of course the powerful connection we see on screen with characters Jamie and Claire. I just discovered this show a week ago and I'm through season 4. I've watched a lot of these videos on YT and I keep asking myself, why have people reacted so strongly to the show (including myself) and in particular why have they reacted so strongly to the story and "chemistry" between Claire and Jamie? I don't think I've ever had this strong reaction to an on-screen relationship ever and I've seen loads of movies in 40 years! Obviously, there are many explanations but I am still convinced that we, the viewers, respond strongly when we subconsciously know and feel that there is something real there. Actors "act" but it's interesting just how often leading couples become involved after they do a movie together because acting may be acting but again I don't think it's possible to engage in scenes with that level of intimacy and emotion without feeling something already or EVOKING those feelings in the acting process(and don't you think those lines are going to start blurring at some point when the show lasts this long and the acting is portraying a deeply abiding love connection between two people versus a superficial comedy show about a couple?) unless you're just really completely shut down. AND I can think of many of my favorite movies were there was wonderful chemistry between the leading lady and man and I still didn't see anything that even remotely resembles what I am seeing in especially the first couple of seasons of Outlander. I think evoking emotion is very real and when you're in a show this long with somebody, I believe they now have just what is a deep abiding affection and love and trust with one another. I tuned in on this(intuitively) and I could be totally wrong but I really get the feeling that the actor Sam probably had very, very strong feelings for Cait in the first year(s) of filming and quite possibly was in love with her. An actor is going to do his best to remain professional and certainly won't admit to anybody that he's in love with his leading lady especially if he doesn't get the feeling that she feels the same about him (my sense is that Catriona probably initially might have had some feelings for him but eventually did not share the same level that I think we're seeing in Sam's eyes) hence moving on with now hubbie a year after Outlander hit screens. But I still believe that the reason people are viscerally responding so strongly to those lovemaking scenes and just scenes of affection in the first few seasons is because there IS something real there. I just have a feeling that Cait did share the same feelings for him initially and so of course it was a gorgeous thing to witness but eventually I just have a feeling that she didn't feel the same as he did so he has to keep that facade of it just being professional and they're good friends etc but I believe that he definitely initially probably was in love with her and now still has strong feelings for her despite doing his best to move on... it has after all been 8 years. I remember reading somewhere that he said that they film 9 to 10 months out of the year and the months that he's away, he's really impacted by not being with her, like missing family. I thought that was very telling. And again I will concede I could be totally wrong about this. Cast members obviously become very close in a long-running show like this (exMASH) and when the show finally ends it's going to be really painful for everybody because I think we were really meant to live in small tribes that foster closeness, intimacy and connection with everyone and no doubt they feel that too (although Cait has husband and child now so probably won't be feeling it as strongly as perhaps Sam is). And I think these kind of shows foster that consciously or unconsciously. So when the show ends it's literally like losing family. Finally, the concept of acting being "just acting" is an interesting one because truly in order to act you still have to evoke emotion from within... you have to evoke it from somewhere deep inside of yourself and so the emotion is still very real. At the end of the day, I still believe that the reason people are having such an unbelievably strong reaction to this show since it came out and are obsessed with this connection between Jamie and Claire or Sam and Catriona is because on some level it is real and that's what we're reacting to. PS so sad his marriage with American actress did not work out (probably in part due to heavy acting schedule in Scotland). Your thoughts on all this? Would love to hear from Sandra.

Short true story long ago girl meets guy they have the time of thier lives, travel go to school have the best friends. Know everyone they have everything time goes on they grow older illnesses happens they go on but this time illness is not so kind, this time it takes away the start of their love affair from one of them 😢😢.
