Why do people still play on Warmane after all these years?

Yeah, that's the big question: why do people still play on the Warmane server, for years and years? Warmane is almost 15(fiftin) years old, and you still see the same people from time to time.
Warmane's main expansion is Wrath of the Lich King, featuring two primary realms: Icecrown and Lordaeron. More casual players tend to play on Icecrown, while those who love challenges prefer Lordaeron. The difference between these realms lies in the rate multipliers (multiplajers); Icecrown offers faster progression, whereas (veraz) Lordaeron provides a more authentic and unaltered (an alted) experience of WotLK. Thus (dus), players seeking a pure and challenging experience gravitate towards (tuwords) Lordaeron, while those looking to progress quickly choose Icecrown. So, right from the start, you see that Warmane gives you a choice.

Not needing a subscribtion is the main reason I chose private servers over official. I mean, I won't be playing the game every day of the month, and I often take long breaks, so paying a full month's worth fee for just a few days of playing once in a while just isn't a good deal. And besides that, Warmane is probably the safest bet when it comes to private servers. It's the longest running server out there, it's been around for like 15 years now (used to be called Molten WoW at some point), it's the most popular, and it doesn't seem that it can be shut down.

This comment! I used to play classic and then tbc but as you pointed, not enough time to progress and keep up with the meta. I found out about warmane very recently and im grinding my level in Lorderon, so far is very joyful for me

I really only just found out about Warmane. I absolutely hate Blizzard for being a bunch of moneygrabbers, charging you for the expansions and per month to play on a dead game. WotLK was by far my favorite expansion and has the nostalgia feel for me. I couldn't believe this server was so crowded and active AND FREE.

A problem I've noticed with the main servers is that the content is gatekept. If you're a fresh 70, you likely won't be able to raid since no one does the lower tier content and there are gearscore/achievement requirements for every pug. You could try their Onyxia server however. Its progressive from vanilla through wotlk (currently at end of vanilla).

i love lordaeron and warmane so much. even thought it has issues like multiboxers and crossrealm BGs and arenas with the p2w realm, it still has tons of upsides.

@@therider990 multiboxers are no bots. they follow 1 player and are played by him. they also exist in classic but its better to just use bots and scripts there.

Great video! Warmane indeed has its niche with forver-wotlk realms. The forever progression is one the reasons people love playing mmorpgs. I am playing official Cata, but I still do feel like logging in Warmane every day for a few daily things, because I know eventually I will have a period when I will be "mainining" warmane and keeping up with dailies will pay off

Warmane is by far the best and most populated wotlk server, but the toxicity is on another level. This is what turns me away from it! Can't tell you how many times I've been Instant kicked in heroics just because I don't have a 4k GS.

Played Shitstorm, I mean Firestorm from 2016 until 2021. What I hate there is that older expansions were never fully scripted, bugfest. New expansion? Lets abandon the previous expansion realm. I want to rotate between expansions. This week I play MoP, next week Vanilla etc. Private server realm longevity is the best deal for me.

I still play here, warmane was my first ever private server and I loved everything about it. Everything is for free! One of the best experience I had was when I ask for help/aid there will always be a lot of player willing to help, a lot of guilds waiting for you to join them. Such an amazing community

Well, if you play as a healer or tank, you get an instant invite, for sure.

I spent alot of time in warmane and nowadays I can't even find a group that's doing ToC just people doing icc which I don't wanna invest all my time in icc only, if u also like mboxxing sure go for warmane but I'm moving on to whitemanes frostmorne since they will ban the mboxxers and not ruin the integrity of the game

I agree that Warmane has some problems with lower-level content, but until recently I played on Warmane and managed to find groups for lower-level content, although it was a bit harder. Many players are focused on ICC. If people eventually realize that a server like Whitename is a better choice and Warmane starts to lose population, something might be done. Until then, I believe nothing will happen.
