Thanks guys for all your feedback! I totally agree with you on the lack of story/plot but keep in mind that the story was Danny's part and he is just starting out filmmaking and never did something like this before. Also he never acted before so I think he did a great job for the first time. For me personally it was a great experience shooting this and to see how many things you can fuck up during a shoot like this. Definitely a good way to learn and grow. Even though, I also want to work on more travel projects this year and I'm going to focus more on my own stories, composition and maybe some commercial work. Stoked to share more stuff with you soon! Chris

Lmao, I don't know if its Danny's script or anything. But you just displaying your lack of character by blaming someone else when something goes south. I mean if you going to shit on him might as well be real and not try to sound nice at the same time. Plus, you put your name there next to Danny's, so you are responsible as well.

Give your character a goal he needs to reach very badly, give him obstacles that get crazier, impossible ones to get over and make him fight and struggle to win them over. All your cinematography, camera angles, edit cuts, drone shots should serve nothing but that, repeat that last line again and again. Great work on the visuals, I know indie filmmaking is hard AF, easy to comment on, but you literally give your blood sweat and tears so good effort just follow the above and we'll see a masterpiece!

Read the description people. The short will make a lot more sense. I think this is extremely well done for only being shot in 3 Days. Sure you can pick apart the plot, costumes, acting, but all of it was done with two people. That’s nuts!! Also the thumbnail is 🔥

Best skin tones out of an alpha line camera I've seen so far. After watching this short, I was left with two thoughts: I was in owe with the progress of video equipment over the last 10 years (really, 10 years ago this could cost all your family's kidneys, the refrigerator to keep them fresh included) and simultaneously in owe with how all those cinematic shots alone were not enough to keep me interested for more than 1 minute. Literally, after a minute, I was scratching my head, starving for something to hold on in this short. The behind the scenes video kept me waaay more entertained than the actual film! Since this budget filmmaking was not possible some years ago and so most of us are still making our baby steps, I'm so excited to watch all those creators mature.

Alright I watched this... Visually the movie is flawless but I think this could have been reduced to a 5-minute movie... The pacing was to slow for me. I must admit I am a bit confused by the grave he found in the middle of nowhere. Was that his family or something? and if so why would he put the necklace back that part eludes me a bit. My final thoughts are that the movie is well made the cinematography is amazing but the story and the pacing are a bit lacking. Still impressive for 15mn of no dialogue at all.

Also in the ending when he is running from something in the woods, could be more explicitly done... Relating to his terror.

Yes, I agree with this comment. I had to skip a few parts because it was slow. I didn't understand what was going when he was running around in the woods flailing. BUT the best part of the film was the gun shot-eating transition.

I'm going to take a slightly different opinion than most on this. I thought this was amazing. Cinematography, acting, sound and music, and YES the story too. I thought this was beautiful because I DIDN'T know what was going on. I was just as lost as this person so I could relate to him and I felt for him the whole way. I honestly got emotional for him at the end when coupled with the music and scenery. The production value was immaculate and the story left me lost, emotional, and yearning for this man to make it out, despite not knowing wtf was happening. Very very good job!

Incredible cinematography. I've seen people post "cinematic" footage done on the A7 III, but without the artistry of storytelling, composition, lighting, and editing that you demonstrate, it shows that the equipment alone doesn't make you a filmmaker. This is the real deal. I was drawn in within the first 30 seconds and couldn't stop watching. Brilliant.

Great visuals! And a lot to learn from: Camera: - I miss a wide angle at the beginning, so stressful not to know where he is and the camera moving so much all the time. It looks like we were hiding behind the trees, but nobody is... - Too many close face shots, we got the idea. There is no need to enhance what he is expressing every 30 secs. - That fell, i miss a shot with better perspective that could make us understand what kind of fell it was. Details: - If there is one thing that disconnected me from the story the hole movie it was that faded haircut, so popular in 1800-1900.. Sorry but it looks like a hipster dresses up with that perfect haircut and beard. - The hands and nails are perfect. I missed some hurts, fucked up fingers, nails or something from someone working with his hands in the snow his hole life. - The clothes should cover his head and neck better, at least to sleep or in some scenes, nobody will feel any better in the cold with just that thin hoodie. Story: - Where to start? I´ve been lost most of it. He is upset, sad, confused, angry? What is driving him? Finding the wife i supposed, so it should be hope and angry. But i couldn´t feel it when he found her... When he fell, i understood he broke his leg in a way you could see his bones. Was that right? How can he be walking and running in the next scenes without pain? Even if he is able to run without pain, what is he running from? How did he died? It sounded like a bear but his reactions didn´t make any sense. Then he died jumping and throwing his ache, towards what? There were enemies and not a bear? Then why nothing sounded human? As you can see more doubts than it should be to be able of following the story. Music: - No changes. All the time the same feeling. Missing a big change when he found the wife grave. And sound from him to express it. Missing a big change in the fall and in the taking care of him. Good one at the end, still missing a going up on it until the end. Conclusion: I don´t want this to sound negative because of the number of corrections i would do. It is incredible that you were able to make this with such a small team and being one of your firsts in many ways. It is an incredible work that i love and i will love to see it progress. Keep it up and starting already with this level the next one can be sick AF.

Excellent short film. 4 stars for the visual and sound work on this project and no major budget! For anyone watching with negative comments the behind the scenes video released prior to this upload should have given them an immediate appreciation for the talent it took to put this together. I'm inspired by the fact that you only had one small camera set up , a drone and one actor. 15 mins was not to long for me but maybe people would have preferred it if he had been stranded on a small island with a soccer ball named Wilson for a 2 hours to consider it amazing lol!!!
