Except, it's not. He's canonically out there doing shit. And, I quite frankly don't care for another protagonist. But, again, who cares. I probably would have watched more of the new episodes if I had known it was supposed to be a continuation of the actual storyline, and they finally dropped all the other bullshit add in characters, going back to Ash, Misty, and Brock. But, they already pissed me off firing all the English voice actors decades ago. I'll watch episodes with Tracy in it, maybe. But they broke the cardinal rules. You don't just reshuffle the entire cast, and you don't recast actors. The only Batman games I ever played are the ones where Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammil were both in it. And when Mark Hammil was done with Joker, I was done with the games. Of course Conroy is a dead bitch now, so I'm just done with Batman in general. I think the only time I let it slide is when they replaced War Machine with Don Cheadle instead of "Some black dude". But RDJ's performance as Iron Man just kept me coming back. And when he stopped, the MCU died. As it should.

It’s amazing to see and to know that Ash is more than just on a journey to participating in Pokémon leagues and hopefully becoming champion in any of the leagues. It’s about being on an adventure and meeting and befriending Pokémon and even other trainers and all. For Ash, it’s not about being champion; it’s about adventure, which is a the real journey and the real key to becoming a Pokémon Master, even after becoming the champion of Galar. So, in a way, from what we hear, the journey’s not over; it continues. We may not hear from Ash on a frequent basis, but occasionally we will. But even so, the journey continues.

@Wyvern Of Strength not sure how old you are but honestly a lot of people commenting I would assume are 20-30 years old and pokemon was an integral part of are childhoods. Where as most of us got away from it as we grew up I think there is a natural human desire to hold onto our childhood. It's sorta the end of an Era and the end of something that gave so many of us so much joy as kids in that sense it's losing something that is close to many peoples hearts. I think thats why so many people are sad not so much because of ash himself but because in a way for many of us now adults it's the end of a journey also.

I loved the first season and the first games (Red & Blue) so much growing up. They helped me get through some tough things like bullying and the breakdown of my family, I'd just immerse myself in everything Pokemon and Dragon Ball to survive. I watched/played as much as I could since. I have two kids now myself and they have loved the games and cartoons themselves, I got to share that with them, but they'll never know how franchises like this saved me, as silly as it may sound to others. I got to collect them all every gen to distract myself. The character of Ash felt annoying at times, but I related. I just always seemed to fumble through life. His story ending on a high makes me feel like I can achieve higher with my time left than I already have.

I love Pokemon. Loved it as a kid, still love the series as an adult. I watched and rewatched the original series and kept with it up until Diamond and Pearl. But I kept playing the games until college, which destroyed many of my hobbies. I’ve dabbled back in the series here and there but even the games are no longer interesting either. This weekend, I helped my parents sift through a bunch of old boxes of my childhood things to see what I wanted to keep, and a ton of what I went through was my old doodles of pokemon or kid me writing about how much I loved pokemon. It's rare that you get to see a character that played such a big role in your childhood actually have an ending. We got it with Samurai Jack, and I'm glad I could see it with Ash, too.

I havent watched the anime in a long time but knowing Ash's journey is ending makes me want to cry even though i am a grown man.The memories , the hype of watching the episodes and especially the movies when i was a kid... Those times man..Thanks for the memories..

As a longtime fan of this anime these are my final thoughts so far. The Ash and Pikachu mini-arc story final episode's exposition of what a Pokemon Master means to Ash, just confirmed that the writers view Ho-OH to be figuratively the symbol of what a Pokemon Master is. Based on the Johto series bell tower episode, Ho-Oh is regarded in the anime as the ultimate harmonious symbol of pokemon and human connectivity, and is both respected and accepted by arguably all Pokemon in the world who deem it as either their sacred deity or loyal companion. Which is essentially what a Pokemon Master is, a pokemon trainer that is accepted by all Pokemon as a loyal companion (friend). This may also support the reason why Ash gets so inspired when he encounters Ho-Oh, or gets reminded of it, through symbology's of it (rainbow). I didn't care much for the ending, since long time fans never got closure to Ash's story of fulfilling his dream. I felt the writers could have had Ash accomplish his goal of being a Pokemon Master, by having Ash and Ho-oh have a proper meeting, in which Ho-OH acknowledges Ash as a Pokemon Master, by allowing Ash to temporarily catch it as symbol of respect of viewing Ash as an equal ( a fellow Pokemon Master), based on recognition of Ash's qualities of being a good trainer, which is proven based on the bond he developed with his pokemon over the course of his journey and accomplishments of being a world champion. Ash could have then continued to travel the world to learn more about pokemon, just like how Ho-oh continues to travel the world in search of good trainers. But again, we never got this. For me, the anime just reinforced the slogan of "gotta catch'em all (befriend them all)" as the ultimate goal of being a pokemon master. Nothing at all tied in to why his dream is so connected to Ho-OH and why he gets so inspired from his encounters with seeing bird. Overall, I truly despised the 11 episode special mini-arc, as it didn't help give a proper ending to Ash's story, but instead baited our expectations by using a legendary to drive the story and showing off a limited number of Ash's previous Pokemon. It was all just a farce to build anticipation for the new anime, which the longtime fans didn't deserve.

Felt as though there were some missed opportunities , when saying goodbye to misty and brock they couldve given us a montage of all their memories together ,same with tracy and their memories in the orange islands while playing ‘together forever’ (OG’s will know) and maybe seeing Ho-Oh at the rainbow

The final 11 episodes were som serious hits and misses they really could of been done better I love that Latias was following Ash and seeing Latios plus Alto Mare and the Movie Latias again was awesome. I really wish we see an older ash down the road 26 years and he’s still 10 come on Pokémon Company please get rid of this weird forever summer paradise bs.

No it’s their vision they can do whatever you want with it You want something to go your way write your own story Just hits no misses The fact that you assume that age equals maturity is really stupid considering the fact irl that there are a lot of adults who act like they are 5 and 5 year olds who act adult You don’t have to age to mature ash has shown his maturity in other ways like his improvement in battle progression and his heroism The anime doesn’t need to be badass all the time it’s the cute and sweet little wholesome episodes that make it so special Appreciate it now because when it’s gone you’ll miss it As someone once said We were made to be Nothin' more than this Finding magic in all the smallest things The way we notice, that's what really matters Pokémon is meant to be a wholesome comfort show if they’re expecting badass moments every five seconds then they’re watching the wrong show Because that was never the point As the og theme said Pokémon is about Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside Our hearts so true our courage will pull us through you teach me and I teach you” That’s what it is about and that’s what it will always be about and if that’s what it continues to be about until the end of time Anipoke isn’t really about what ash’s catches it’s about the wholesome adventures and the friends he made a long the way and I really wish you guys would appreciate that more because you’ll miss it when it’s gone There was no filler and it wasn’t pointless every experience it all made ash who he is now What the pokemon anime community fails to understand. Imagine if someone called the events that you enjoy in your own life filler.

There’s a lot of ways we could see him return still a teenage or a young adult walking the lands meeting new people and Pokémon but then stumbles upon our new character and teaches her/him about Pokémon through his eyes while doing what he does best to protect when needed to that could be one of many reasons of return(haven’t been with lore on the series so I do know a bit but not everything)

It left a lot of questions to be unanswered honestly * Who was Ash's Dad? * Did Brock get the love of his life? * Did Ash and Serena end up being together especially after the kiss? * What was with the GS ball? * What happened to to the enemy groups Team Rocket,Magna,Aqua, Galactic,Plasma and so on?

I the know answer for few of the questions. Ans.2 No Brock did Not get the Love of his life. Ans.3 No conformation on the future of ash either. Ans.4 Celebi was inside the GS ball the episode which were meant to show this were cancelled And the movie was made on celebi.

While we do have to say goodbye to Ash Ketchum for now, he helped make our childhoods to what they were in the past, I hope that Ash Ketchum will actually return (I'm not saying that he will, but possibly) in an episode of Pokèmon Horizon, but we shall not forget Ash Ketchum, he wasn't the legend that we all expected, but he was the legend that will always be in our hearts
