Right on target. After 15 years of marriage and a lot of struggles my husband and I were at a point where we just couldn't seem to make peace in our home. Everyone was always angry. I blamed him and he blamed me. We prayed but prayers seemed to go unanswered so finally one morning over coffee we simultaneously made the decision that he should leave. It was a heartbreaking decision. He packed a bag and drove away. I took the day off from work and went to find an apartment for the kids and me that I could afford on my own. I put his name on the lease hoping he would return but I made plans to get by without him. The kids and I began the moving process. God had his plan in the whole thing. We needed to be separated for a time to pray and get our focus on our relationship with God. When my husband returned just a few days later he was a different man. Even the children saw the change immediately. We have now been married 50+ years.

My wife left me, justifiably, six months ago. It hurt when I finally let go after a few months but she didn't take long to start moving towards me again. We still have a way to go to get back to living together but now we both know we will. God is doing His work in our lives and marriage. I had to finally take her off the altar and put God first. I'm only 14, but this song SPEAKS to me. I saw Out of the Dust live about a year ago, and honestly they were the reason that I started to get into a deeper relationship with God. So incredibly beautiful, and so absolutely perfect going through basically this exact same crisis. The only words that aren't 110% from my heart are "I can't even feel you near" as God has used this terrible ordeal to draw me as close to Him as I have ever been and to reveal himself to me in countless ways throughout. It is still unbelievably hard and even terrifying. And, in fact, after many months, I am still trying to let it go entirely. Still praying for redemption and restoration and a miracle, but this song is still speaking so much to me, and has helped me mourn, weep, and heal tremendously.
