The weather is very strange, but I’m very familiar as an inventor. I invented the melting system for vehicles around the world and with my research really doesn’t surprise me places that doesn’t snow that actually got snow. I enjoyed this video. Captain.⚓️❄️😃

Hi Capt.... great information, thank you! I don't have lithium batteries on our boat, but I do have a dozen tools that run off lithium batteries. I bring those into the house in cold weather. We had 5-6" of snow last night, and the temperature will be 13 F tonight. It never got out of the 20's during the day today.... Have a great evening!

LiFePO4 batteries are fine below freezing as long as you don't try to charge them. If you try to charge them, something called "lithium plating" can occur. I store them in my boat in Chicago all winter long, and have never had a problem. But, don't charge them. Also, good advice about the space heater. A tenant at my warehouse started a fire that way just a couple of months ago.

Just to be clear,Lithium batteries do not get damaged from being 32 degrees,they get damaged from using them if 32 degrees or lower. They can stay outside without issue.

@@good2go193 Wow. I did not know that, but what I've been told is that never happened on freezing temperatures.Thanks for your comment

you neen Lithium batteries with heater warmers in them if too cold where you are, they self heat
@PJnc27616 сағат бұрын
yeah at a minimum you should look for an LFP battery with low temp protection as attempting to charge them when below freezing is what can damage them, not necessarily discharging them. The fancier ones have the heaters to keep them warm but may not be necessary depending on your location. Will has a good video on the topic and does a lot of tear downs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5LMqKt6ir5sntEsi=5fj4a85qCA989ZyV

That’s only true for charging. Charging below 32f is the issue. They are fine below 32 resting or being used. Most of these batteries have 32f charging protection. Love your content, but this whole video is incorrect.
