As a Dutch-Ethiopian descendent, I do think building in the village is a very strong statement of proudness of your origin. This is an inspiration for younger people to grow up and do the same. Imagine if every individual were courageous enough to build in their own villages. This would boost the economy all over the country instead of concentrating it into a city where everyone is becoming strange to each other. These families in the villages would be able to bring implements and stabilities. You have land, and you have your own food. less independent from the government. I wish many Africans would do the same.

I'm not Nigerian however given the events after 1970, where many lost their properties and other assets in other regions of the country, I can truly understand why most choose to "build in the village"...now should they be extravagant? Well we really can't tell people how to spend their money but ngl it would be nice to see more industry, more infrastructure so this way more folks would stay in the village to live, work and do business...just my humble opinion...tfs...

Whether it is mansion or not, just build yourself a comfortable place. It is wiser to build in your home lamd than to build it in lagos . Its a different thing if you're into real estate. Of course, you tend to build in the cities and may be, use the money to then build back home. If you build in your village, even if you come there only once in 5 years, bro, it's still yours. No body will go there to demolish it.

There is something some of other tribes don't know or understand about we igbo tribe you see that great house the original copy design is from western world European and American and uk where all this houses built is in the country side which American people called village and other European countries or regions called it village houses and this is not the building the developed countries showcase as been developed or rich so our igbo people also copy it and built it the same way European built it in their village , now some people are saying all kinds of words this is great houses it makes that village looks like America or uk and Europe village , the owner is great 👍

You know nothing about igbo village that's you think some visit once in 5 years. Nobody build to visit once in 5 years. Don't forget most those big mansions live in Nigeria. Don't forget most of them have herited ancestral lands in that village. Don't forget most of them spiritually connected to their village with so much sweet memories of grannies and ithers when they were kids. Don't forget igbo families living in the nigerian big cities take their families to the village during Christmas for at least two weeks. Don't forget the kids are sometimes send to go and live with their grandparents in the village during school holidays or for familiarization of the culture and customs. Don't forget, traditional marriages, funerals, communal meetings, communal contributions, chieftaincy tittles are done in the village. Where do you want a rich man to host his quests in the village? Huts? Why did peoe iwn a private jet, conttage for white people if you know what is it? Why do people spend money on luxurious car? Is all about comfort andeans. Don't question a man how he spend his money because you dont know what motivated to make the money and keep on naking the money.
