I use Canva for my images. I pay monthly for it I also use Canva for developing all of my class materials

If you are using part of a book on your slides or in your handouts, just make sure to source them. As far as film clips are concerned, there is something called "fair use" under copyright law. You can use short clips for demonstration, critique, or illustration. KZbinrs do this everyday. I do not know the specifics time-wise, but a 30 second clip should not be a problem. Again, just note the source to CYA.

Thanks so much for this information. I am thinking of starting in outschool and I wanted to look for images. Can you post a link to the creative site you talked about? It went by super quickly for me and feel like it will take me hours to find it. Thanks!

Hi Catherine you have great information. One suggestion to those of us not tech savvy is if you could slow down a bit. You talk very fast giving a lot of good information. Thanks

Hi Paula! She does talk very quickly. On the video there is a settings button that you can click to adjust the playback speed. I would suggest playing the video at .75 times the speed. That will slow it down a bit, but not too much! Settings is the button that looks like a gear on the bottom right corner of the video. It's right next to the CC closed captions button. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Great video! 👍 I would like to include your KZbin channel in my new teacher hiring resources for my referrals. Would that be ok? It just states that your channel has great videos to go to to find out about Outschool and there will be a direct link to it.

What about assigning reading outside of class and discussing in class? Is that allowed?

Thank you so much! I've Bee stressing over this. I do have a question about how to get permission for books. Do most publishing companies have a place I could have their emails? The book I want to use gives an address because it is older. I'm just looking for a quicker way to contact them.

I want to use a recipe from Pillsbury bake-off. I don't see how to get permission.
