Outschool Intro Video: TIPS & EXAMPLE

In this video I'm going to share some thoughts on what I think makes a great Outschool intro video.
I'm also going to share my current Outschool intro video which I admit is a little too long. I am going to change it but this is what is on my teacher profile right now.

I’ve watched several videos on KZbin and I love how clear your video and audio are! Do you have any recommendations for an external camera and/or external microphone? I have a Legion gaming laptop. I also travel full-time. So I’m looking for something that is portable! Would love to know what you suggest!

I notice the days of the phone camera have gone. I do like the background blur. It keeps your eyes focused on the principle.

Your video was SUPER Helpful! I just joined Outschool 2 weeks ago and I intend to teach Math, Music and Bath Bomb creation classes. I definitely plan to rework my introduction video. Wish I had the mad editing skills. I think for now I'll just try to create a fun classroom backdrop.

Thanks for sharing Michael...especially the part about ADHD! Love your video. Just curious if you use a green screen at all in filming any videos? I am working from and unfinished basements and fear my hanging sheets appear a little tacky

I have never used a green screen. I think as long as you can’t see the edges of a curtain where it’s hung it shouldn’t look tacky.

Hello, I plan on teaching AP BIOLOGY. I am currently a VIPKID teacher. I want to know how long my intro video should be. Should I make two videos, one general and another tailored towards AP BIOLOGY? I want to know if there is any free video editor PC app that I could use to edit my intro video? Thanks

To be honest I’m not 100% sure on the video requirements at the moment as I believe the application process just changed. I’m also not a Windows user and have minimal knowledge on editing Software for non-Apple products. Sorry I can’t be of more help

You have the option to create one video for your profile and then an individual video for each class you teach. To be honest I think my example is a better suited to be a class trailer than a profile video
