How do you determine which games are head to head, and which ones everyone plays? Do you determine who plays who for each game before the tournament starts via a bracket? Also some games you have worth more points. Is that based off of the skillcap of the game or just the round that you are on? LOVE THE CHANNEL By the way. My family and I are attempting our own first ever annual Summer Games next week.

Thank you very much! This may be a long post, but hopefully it helps! Correct, I determine which teams plays against each other before the games start, but not the players who will be playing. The final level is different--it's always the team that is 3rd in points vs. 4th in points, and then 1st vs. 2nd. What I don't predetermine are the players for each team; the captains take turns choosing their teammates. Captains are predetermined in different ways: they can volunteer, be selected randomly, participate in a pregame where the top players become captains, or I simply choose them myself. I made up my own system for the match ups (works only for 4 teams) where every team plays each other the same amount of times, but this only works in increments of 9 games (9, 18, 27, etc.). We do 20, so it's a little off, but that's ok :). This method only applies if you have 4 teams and do the head-to-head / team-vs-team format that we do. If you want to know how it works, let me know! Alternatively, you can have all teams play at the same time for each game, but this increases the number of materials needed and the amount of space required, so you'll need to account for that. If you only have 2 teams, then it is far more simple since both teams play each other throughout the entirety of the whole tournament. I think 2 teams are great if you have 12 or less players. I like having a 6 player cap per team. As for the points, yes, they're based on the level you're on. I like to set the order the games so that the easier ones come first and then gradually get harder from there. The increase in difficulty corresponds with the increase in points. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, I'll try to get you ASAP! Good luck with your first Summer Games! P.S. Writing this up is making me want to do a video about this now! :)

Sorry for my also long response, lol. @@Outscord So I am going to list the 20 games we decided on for our first Summer games tournament. If you have any insight on if some games should be higher/worth more because of skillcap that would be greatly appreciated. Also we have a few games we kind of made up on our own that might fit stuff we do for our family. Most of these games are ones you made up though. Last Man Standing for the first 5 games: Final winner receives a wooden 6 x 6 inch shadow box shaped like a house (cabin) as a personal trophy that they can decorate how they choose. (We are an arts and crafty family.) The final four will be the captains for the four teams. Winner of course getting first pick. 1. Stack Attack 2. Tap Trap (We don't have the cool Pokemon soda cans you guys do though) 3. Sidewinder 4. Chop Flop 5. Rapid Fire I am curious I just listed five games that seemed like they could be good for a solo play. Do you have any insight on which game is best for the finale/last round of Last Man Standing out of the five games listed? We can't really do the spinning pong game yet. We don't have as much ping pong balls as you guys yet, and we definitely don't have a spinning contraption. Ok now after Last Man Standing we figure out our teams, and then play the next 15 games. I bought orange, blue, green, and pink solo cups/balloons/glow sticks/ping pong balls 24 of each pong ball color. (This gives us that divided by 3 format you mentioned so each team plays three times. Will that still work to have 3rd play 4th and 1st play 2nd though for the final 20th game?) 6. Face the Cookie +3 points 7. Ping Pong Volley +3 points 8. Moving on Up +3 points 9. Water Bottle Flip (I can't remember what you guys call it.) +4 points 10. Defying Gravity +4 points 11. Flip Tac Toe +4 points 12. This Blows + 6 points 13. Cup Ballet + 6 points 14. Office Tennis + 6 points 15. Balloon Pyramid +8 points 16. *Corn Hole Relay +8 points 17. *Frisbee Golf +8 points 18. *Fill the Bucket +10 points 19. *Team Flip Cup Survivor +10 points 20. *Lost in the Marsh +10 points The final 5 games with asterisks I didn't see on your channel . I will explain what we have come up with (I've watched tons of your videos. My wife calls me obsessed.) Some of them seemed hilarious and fun for our family. Also playing these games during the summer each year outdoors at our family cabin. Some games can and will work outdoors (wind being a big factor). So we wanted to do some games that could be played outdoors. Save more of the other games you guys have made up for our winter, colder, indoor tournament around the holiday season. Corn Hole Relay: Basically we bring corn hole to our cabin every year. It is fun for everyone. We will setup the ramps side by side though. Each team will have 12 bags that they have to make in the hole. First team to make all 12 bags in wins. Frisbee Golf: Same as the above relay. We will have a bunch of Frisbee that need to land inside a target bucket. First team to sink them all wins. Fill the Bucket: You might remember this game from double dare/field day. Basically you soak a sponge with water. It has to be held over your head and carried to another empty bucket. Teammates pass the dry sponge to the next person in their team after dumping their water in the target bucket. First team to get the water above the fill line wins. Team Flip Cup Survivor: A classic old game. Each team has the same amount of cups that must be flipped each round regardless of plays. Once a player flips their cup the next person can go. The losing team has to eliminate a player, but the same amount of cups have to be flipped. So eventually one person will be flipping 4 cups to try and win for their team (we have 16 people going to the cabin, and 4 people per team.) Lost in the Marsh: Our final and messiest game, but possibly could be the most hilarious. We will have pie tins with one marshmallow in it, surrounded by whip cream. Teams must race relay style to find their marshmallow and deposit it into their team bowl. First team to find all 4 marshmallows wins. Teams play relay style. No hands can be used to find it. Basically its like a pie eating contest of sorts. Let me know if you might think any games might have better locations based off of skillcap. Also I am curious. My wife and I have concerns of our 7 year old being able to play some of these games. He is the youngest in our family. Everyone else is age 10 or older. Have you ever run into issues on having younger family members playing these games? Do you set an age limit on competing? How do you determine that with making the kids feel left out? I know we have some competitive people in our family. I am trying to make memories and traditions here. One of your family members from Team Praxis said it at the 8th annual Winter Games. It inspired us to do this. Also we have a larger wooden 8 x 8 inch shadow box for the winning team to decorate and make into their own trophy to take home. I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to respond by the way. Always a big fan!

We love Last Man Standing! If Ping Tac Toe 360 is not an option, you can do the original version where it doesn't spin. Alternatively, you make Tap Trap the final game. Last year we did 2 cans, but if this is going to be the last game, I would increase it to 3. Movin' On Up is another great game you can include in your list. It's easy enough that anyone can do it. Would also be good option for a first game. So it would be something like this: 1. Movin' On Up 2. Chop Flop 3. Stack Attack 4. Sidewinder 5. Rapid Fire 6. Tap Trap Team Games One team may play another team more than the others if you do the 3rd vs. 4th & 1st vs 2nd match up for the last game. But that's ok! I think it's better that the top 2 teams battle it out in the end. As for the final 5 games, I've only played the Corn Hole one, but the others sound fun too! I like having the most difficult game/longest one last to give it that "final boss" kind of feel, haha. I would change the points a bit for the last half: 12. 5 points 13. 5 points 14. 5 points 15. 6 points 16. 6 points 17. 7 points 18. 8 points 19. 9 points 20. 10 points The way I try to order games is basically like this: the easy, funny, and quick games are first and the harder and longer games are farther down on the list with the last game being the hardest and longest one. It helps to test out the games to figure out the order, especially if they're new. We don't have an age limit for competing. What I like to do get around the more difficult games, or the ones that give me concern, is to turn them into relay games. We do 2 types of relays: "type 1" is where a player must complete a certain task before switching out, and "type 2" (the safer option) is to give each player X amount attempts and switch out when they are successful or have used all their attempts; the way we did Balloon Pyramid is an example of this (also check out how we did Mega Bubble). In this case, each player is given 1 chance to stack a cup on the other table--if they drop the cup or successfully stack it, then the next player goes. They then continue to cycle through their team until they complete the challenge. By doing this, even if one player struggles, their teammates can make it up for them; and more importantly, they'll have a chance to play! Additionally, you can increase the number of attempts for this type of relay based on the challenge and also limit certain games to a certain amount of players (I made Balloon Pyramid a type 2 3-player relay instead of a full team relay). I don't know if you were already set on the games, but just figured I'd give you my thoughts! Hope this helps!
