Easy outside tap installation UK:
This is one for keen DIYers who are used to drilling. Most people will be better off paying a plumber to do it.
You need to be careful when working out where to drill to make sure you're not going to hit any hidden pipes or cables. Work out where you want it inside first (close to water pipe) then measure from the waste pipe if there's one close by to see where it will come outside.

Drills and drill bits:
You only need one decent SDS drill for all the holes, but I like to use my combi drill for screw holes.
450mm long masonry drill bits are good for most outside tap installations but sometimes you need 600mm, it depends on the thickness of the wall and the gap between the inside wall and kitchen unit back board.
Push fit pipe and fittings:
You can use use push fit fittings to make it easier. I sometimes use them if the existing pipework is all plastic pipe and push fit fittings. I prefer Speedfit fittings, because they're easier to remove if needed, and Hep2o pipe because it's more flexible. You use plastic push fit fittings on copper pipe also.
Outside tap and back plate:
The pipe on the back plate on this job was 450mm, but like the drill bit lengths, sometimes you'll need a 600mm pipe to make it all the way through the wall and kitchen unit. This tap has a double check valve built in so no need to add a separate one.

Brilliant mate thanks. What if you need the garden hose a few rooms away from mains water supply? For example if you have a garden out the living room but water supply is in kitchen around 10 meters away? Would you just run pvc pipe through a discreet location? Best suggestion?

@@kermanshah123 yeah you'd have to run a pipe to it. Best bet is under the floor if possible, or if you have to surface mount it you could use trunking to cover the pipe.
