Speaking of "museum mode" I read about a project where archaeologists were collaborating with somebody to turn detailed charts of historic sites into 3D environments to be explored as if in a first person video game. This was about 20 years ago. It's nice to see that something like that is finally reaching consumers. Maybe there really is hope for VR technology this time around...
