Horizon ruins or ran off many a brand over the years. Deep pockets kept them in the game. But as diverse as they are and Traxxas still runs circles around them. With 98% of their product being just surface rc, say what you want about Traxxas they have a solid business model. I just wish they had more competition.

Unfair that you got a V4 to review as the problem with the radio has been recognized and fixed with the new V5 . This would be like me getting and reviewing an Erevo 1.0 right now ( mine broke every tine I ran it , fixed it , and gone !!! ). I have both Traxxas and Arrmas , and after a year of debating getting the Maxx picked one up very well full knowing about the rolling over problem , which stemmed into the wide kit , which now forces you to get the metal axles and hexes . $ 750 plastic truck now that still didn't perform , body constantly popping off , and the plastic "C" hubs in front jumping off the lower pins . Done and sold it . Got a used V3 Notorious ( Tactic radio ) , put 300k in the center diff , IMO , awesome truck , BLOWS away the Maxx I had ! As you already know , new radio , diff fluid , can't see how u could not like it after that ( still cheaper than $750 ) .

When I got my Kraton 4s, I would throttle forward and it wouldn’t move so I’d squeeze it fully and it still wouldn’t move, but half a second after I release the trigger it would go full throttle (runaway). It’s dangerous and luckily didn’t hit my kids. It did run uncontrollably out of my driveway into the neighbor’s and almost hit their car full speed. Lol. Totally Arrma extremists. Lol. Arrma is ok though, all brands have their typical fail points. There is a fix to everything though. I would get an Arrma. Not many that really catch my eye though. I do like the newer 8s Outcast but I'm not interested in it enough to pull the trigger on it. To be honest though, after having used my first 2 stroke 1/5 scale Losi 5ive T, my interest is going more for gas than electric. I've always been a gas lover vs electric. First in fact was a nitro which I love, but it's a little too loud to run anywhere near other people. 2 strokes are definitely quieter. Anyways though, on one 2s battery I can run for about 3 hours maybe more. My 5T has a 800 cc fuel tank and I get 45 minutes of run time per tank full with about a 1/4 tank left when I refill. 3 tanks later I usually get bored and my lipo is still 3.90+/- volts left. Closest run time for electric is just about 2 hours and that's a crawler. The 5T battery takes about 20-30 minutes to charge where as the crawler battery takes closer to 40 minutes on the same amps for only 2 hours. Most of my electric RCs run 20-30 minutes after a 40 minute charge. The reward for the lipo in the 5T in run time is better than nearly 2 batteries in a crawler. I can run my 5T full throttle, running 1 lipo, at 40 mph for half a day where I can run my crawler, 2 lipos, 5 mph max about the same. Two stroke spoiled me.

@@curbspank I've actually never broke a stock plastic driveshaft, but have broke 3 MIP shafts. I've got a Traxxas UDR, Summit, Revo 3.3, and the TRX4. The UDR and the Revo are probably the only ones with enough power to break a shaft. I do bend axles in one of my Losi's all the time, but I never broke an axle in that either. My brother has a Traxxas Stampede (the RC that broke the MIP axles) but the axles were replaced when we converted it to Brushless. The point is to upgrade the weaknesses on every RC and know that they ALL have their quirks. I don't care if you've got Traxxas, Losi, Team associated, Arrma, Axial. It doesn't matter. They all break the same parts. I would rather replace an axle shaft than a servo or bell crank though. Or even a whole damn chassis. The whole Arrma/Traxxas RC is better BS is stupid and a waste of breath. Beating a dead horse won't get you anywhere and the ONLY reason for the hobby is to have fun. I suggested that you should have bought the Kraton EXB Rolling Chassis. I purchased mine last Saturday, and I put in all of the Smart Technology, with the 150 Amp ESC, 2050kv motor, the DX5 Rugged Radio, with the 6s 5000 mAh 100C Smart Batteries, and it is a beast. I haven't had any rear diff issues as of yet. I have jumped it several times on the BMX track, and no issues. I am getting great engine temperatures yesterday on the track at 106 degrees. I am still getting a heat sink and cooling fan. I am running a 17 tooth pinion gear. The EXB Kraton comes with all of the durability upgrades. Check this vehicle out along with the typhoon, but the EXB allows you to put in the electronics of your choosing, and it comes with the upgrades. I am happy with my choice. My EXB should be a high enough serial number that even the ARMA Sales Rep told my Hobby Store owner that it shouldn't have any differential issues as that was early on in the manufacturing of the line. Go ahead and change out that radio like everyone has said, and put a Spectrum DX5 in, if you can, or something comparable. I also put in the Savox 7.4 volt, waterproof servo. Good video, and have fun with your new ARMA, get those upgrades taken care of. I also have an E-Revo 2.0 and the 8s XMAXX. I am purchasing the ARMA Felony next.

EVERYONE on the planet complained about this radio, so now the V4 comes with the Spektrum SLT3 which is similar to the Tactic TTX300. A lot of people, including Horizon Hobby think that newest version of the Outcast/Notorious is a V5, but its not. It's a V4. Let me explain. When the first Kraton V1 came out, the Outcast didn't exist. When the kraton V2, came out, then the Outcast/Notorious V1 came out. I think you chose the wrong version truck for a first Arrma. You should have gotten the V5 version with the new Firma electronics. The spektrum intergrated stuff performs brilliantly. I’m waiting for the Tailon V5 to come out, I think it competes with the Erevo 2.0.

Im a traxxxas guy. But I own a few Arrmas. As most people will say, the transmitter and receiver sucks. All Arrma owners know that. I promise you that when you replace the two, you will fall in love. It’s fun as hell! You were not using it at its full Potential. Just Blast It off your ramp. Full throttle, full speed. It can take way more abuse then what you were giving it. My Arrmas are tough as hell. I only broke about two parts In the last year. I have run them in the pouring rain, I have geared it up with high speed gearing, gearing that it’s not meant for. And the motor and ESC survived! Arrma is for bashing. It can do stuff that your traxxxs can’t. Replace the radio like we all said. It’s sucks out of the box. But it’s a epic RC. You should also shoe glue the inside of the body. It adds extra Strength.

Vent your tires. Check mesh between differential input gear and main ring gear. Add snap ring to servo saver spring . Check droop screws often for first few bashes while the suspension breaks in and settles.

I have a couple of armma,,,,but I prefer my 10 traxxas units,,,,but on the armma I installed the original TACTIC system. Rx/tx....you can get them on line for 60.00 includes the original tactic RX ...this item is readily available on horizon or tower,,,,armma really messed up when they went to spectrum,,,which I’ve always have issues with,,,,change it over to tactic,,,you’ll love it....the rx package is the TTX300. I put these in my 3 armma.....I’m just a traxxas man,,,but with the tactic,life is much better with the armma....great video,,,,love your content 🇺🇸👈 the tactic system is spot on guaranteed.....

Hey, you should get the body reinforcement set for your E Revo2.0. It is dirt cheap but makes your body stronger, they also make them for the XMAXX (now stock) and also for the Rustler 4X4 VXL.
@EXTREMERC4164 жыл бұрын
The only problem with the center diff fluid if you go too thick it will just wheelie non stop and can get annoying when you want to go fast. Check the shims on the diff ring gear and if you can get hold of a mugen seiki shim kit for the arrmas would be great a lot of videos to how to bulletproof them but thats more for the extreme bashing sessions. The driveshafts would hold fine the worst thing that can happen is that you might bend them. Also a little hack boil the the plastics who are subject to breaking like the arms wing mounts ect proven to make them more flexible because it releases the stress of the molding process. At least thats how my kraton exb arms feel like now they went from rigid hard to rpm like feeling

One suggestion you can probably do. Just get yourself a Traxxas receiver and toss it in your Arrma. Might catch flak from the Arrma extremists, but if it improves the drivability, so be it. You are already used to the Traxxas latency so I figure you might as well. I ment you already have the transmitters. Just my input
