I recently started using an editor for HDR edits and it’s been a lifesaver. For my high end clients, I still edit with flambient blend. It’s a good call not to give out their contact. While you wish them successful business, yea you don’t want be lost in the mix. I do want to say, if you’re getting into REP, learn the craft. Learn how to edit your photos. It’s fine to outsource but I personally don’t like if someone only shoots the photos and doesn’t know how to edit them.

Being a flambient shooter it took some trial and error to find a good editor. But I did!

I've been using the same company for a couple years, which is doing hand blended flambient edits with multiple layers. They also put fires in fireplaces, images on TVs, etc. It costs a bunch...well over $2 per image, but the quality is there. I'm hesitant to take seriously all these guys on KZbin saying they get quality editing for like 50 cents an image, because they rarely define what their shooting process is, nor are they sharing the final images to expect. Of course, I'd like to save money, but...I'm skeptical.

@@nickjohnson2818 Phixer. Their highest tier which cost 3 credits apiece are 95% of the time well blended flash/ambient images. (1 credit=approximately 85 cents when bought in bulk).

Just came across your video.Great content! I appreciate the golden nuggets you were able to provide in this video. Question for you... you mentioned checking with Facebook groups to locate editors. Through your experience were the editors found on Facebook charging more or less than those on Fiverr? Do you outsource for photos and videos? And lastly, you mentioned in the video that after your editor edits the video footage you still do finishing touches. How much finishing touches do you have to do or what other changes do you usually have to make? After paying for them to edit everything do they ever just produce a buttoned up finished product that doesn't require any additional editing? I just feel to an extent that it defeats the purpose of being efficient through outsourcing if you still end up doing a considerable amount of editing yourself on the backend.

It's hard in my opinion to get back perfect photos. My editor is extremely good by we still put them in LR and make sure everything is perfect. It's CONSIDERABLY less time than editing the photos from scratch. Takes 5-15 mins to do some quality control. Well worth it

Regarding Facebook lookalike ad's, how do you get around the "Special Ad Category"? The AI wants to think that you're selling homes as an agent/broker, etc. when you're just a photographer trying to target people - like agents - to sell your services. As a side note, you cannot run "lookalike" ad's if you select "Housing" as the special ad category. It's insanely frustrating because lookalike ad's are a huge benefit, and photographers shouldn't be excluded over someone else's occupation. This video was super helpful by the way, got 3 editors following your methods. Cheers

any time ive tried HDR on interiors, i have horrible white balance issues that take too much time to to correct. flambient is still incredibly time consuming but I dont mind shooting with one@@AlexSerrao

It has to be part of your process of finding an editor. You may want to have a list of questions ready for them that you want answered. The editor I use has a brochure that states their editing turn around time and their revision turn around time.
