I am suffering from 2nd hand claustrophobia and vertigo just from watching you. A very scary caving experience when I was young put me off for evermore. I'm pleased that there are people like you who are willing to film these experiences so I can watch them from the safety of my living room. My thanks to you and your guide.

I'm not sure if it was the way the torchlight was playing on the water, but there were some really amazing, brilliant blue colours when you first got to the stream. It almost looks like Cherenkov radiation that you can see in nuclear reactors.

You handled that trip like a true caver, no dramas, or were those bits edited out!! Did you have previous caving experience? I'm quite keen to do the through trip, but as a 62 year old ex caver, I better hurry up and pull finger..... How exposed is the path back up through the bush? I have a poor head for heights, not too bad when secure on a rope but I hate loose, exposed tracks!! Regards Paul in Darfield
@OutThereLearning2 жыл бұрын
There were no dramas - I have done quite a bit of caving and climbing. If you can handle the exposure of the 180m abseil I think you will easily handle the steep track up through the bush!

@@OutThereLearning Thanks for the reassurance, I'd better join the CCG and get some practice. Now where do I buy carbide? I'm joking, I'll need to upgrade my 1980's lighting! Regards Paul

Yep - good to avoid falling into it during a festival! - no I didn't actually spot any snails - my mind must have been focused elsewhere :-)

While this is fantastic and I thank you very much for the footage, NOTHING could get me into that hole given the potential for large quakes in the very near future 😬 The ancient rockfalls are enough warning for my chickensh*t self!

Whew that looks slippery! Fantastic video, incredible adventure! About the calcite accumulation on the rock fall- does it really take that long? I’ve seen plenty of river rocks covered in all sorts of mineral “skins”, all fairly modern. Re: in the creeks near Mt St Helens, the volcano. But I don’t know about calcite, per se. just curious.
