Made my own for the van. Never looked back. Made the top hatch the full width and profile of the van so I done lose 150mm either side of the system. Works for my needs so more than happy. Brilliant informative video 🙂

I can't say that I agree with everything you say (if it was self built, you'd likely use standard ply for instance) but your point about the resale value is spot on and makes mute points of examples like that. Never underestimate the importance of resale value, especially in a community so willing to throw their money at something as the VW scene 😂

Ye that was more the point. Like when I said. No one is gonna buy something home made covered in carpet. I applaud people that try. And fair play. Every build has a budget. I was more answering all the questions before they get asked. Real value in these is great. Little depreciation

Totally agree with everything you say about the OVANO It is the best bit of kit you can get for your van. I have a LWB wide Ovano for over two years. Fantastic quality and a great company.

I’ve got the swing out table and am very impressed with the design and quality. In my mind I want “just” the drawer, as won’t use it as a bed or bulkhead, however, you made me think about having “double-decker” storage, so being able to carry twice as many things which are less than 2ft tall… I have the skills and tools to make it myself, however, know I would have to make 3 before I was happy with the result, so a total false economy!

Had my switch xl for over two years and use it every day, I’ve added the switch supports which locates snuggly on the rear arches and the draw stops which negate draw travel and wear on the draw mechanism, I think these are now standard on the latest revision. Pretty sure I’ve seen all the imitations of it at the vw shows etc, but the Ovano is defiantly the original and certainly the best! Ps: added some rubber striping from eBay onto the switch supports to protect my carpet covered arches

Love your vids but I have a cheeky question, just wondering if you have any details on how the area between the Ovano and the drivers seat looks like without the Kombi seats fitted, and perhaps simple dimensions, Ovano were unable to supply these for a LWB transporter, apologies if it appears a daft question! They did mention you :-)

My ovano enabled me to use a nice van for work. And also when I go away it literally doubles the load space with the extra shelf etc…. Only thing that annoys me with it is that it creaks a bit when driving around but that’s being super critical probably needs tightening up on the screws a bit

@@urbanarkoverland defo, they do need a little servicing with PTFE spray on the hinges and tightening the main fixing points every 2 months but I carry quite a lot of weight in mine and it’s impressive

I love the overall design of the Ovano definitely looks the best on the market. But I do have a few issues with it that have stopped me buying one. I for one would never use the bulk head and would never take my seats out of my Kombi. So this makes the larger piece that fits over the seats and creates the bulkhead redundant. Again personally I do not like that the top section divided into two sections. In my day to day work and loading items into the van I could use a bigger space for larger items on top. Ovano if you read this how’s about an alternative design as above? Currently have the Fortywinks as this works for me. But want an Ovano..

But that panel also creates a bed. Or a flat surface for carrying load or sheet material. It’s better to have the option and not use than not have the option at all. Do you have lwb or swb.

@@urbanarkoverland I have a SWB. If you compare the Ovano to the Fortywinks bed set up, there is no need for a panel to sit over the seats to create a bed. The seats create the surface to put your mattress into. It’s just a simpler design. What I dislike about the Fortywinks design is that with the bed in the folded position you do not get a flat surface to store boxes. You have the metal frame which limits what can be stored size wise on top. A mixture of both designs Ovano/Fortywinks would be amazing. Commission accepted 😉
