The word to describe this house is Grand. And these ppl invested very early in very high quality antique furniture. Clearly the son was a train/railway fanatic. So sad that the house hasn’t been inherited. Surely there are relatives on both the mother and father’s side. That would inherit a share of this house and contents. If they only knew the son had died.

Its a petty about the legal minefield in the UK when it comes to property-wills and probate, the amount of places that end up going to wreck and ruin as a result is a shame.

Hey Chris & Megan, first of all thanks for the shout out on the video, it really made me laugh!! 😂Although there was a lot of alcohol in there (I'm sure I saw Megan swaying slightly!!) 🤣Wow what a house all those fantastic antiques, especially those grandfather clocks. The pictures & paintings were beautiful, I love the old black & white photos at the end, they were stunning. I really hope the undesirables don't get in & trash the place, I really think that house & the contents need to be saved especially with all those antigues in there. You really did a great video on this place, fantastic. Stay safe & can't wait for the next video. Love you guys. Andy. 👍😊👍

Absolutely fascinating! All the bits and bobs discovering who these people were. Looks like a Doctor Who traveled. Also a painter there were paint brushes so maybe some of the paintings around there were his. Certainly had a lot of incredible pieces. Beautiful furniture. Just kind of breaks my heart that nobody is cares enough to get their belongings out. It’s just going to crumble to dust with the house. Very intelligent people that live there. Would’ve loved to of sat down and had conversation with them. That last wardrobe didn’t even have an inch clearance from the ceiling I wonder how they got it in there. The leather top hat box was interesting. Too bad you couldn’t of opened it it would’ve nice to see if it still had it in there. If he was a doctor that would explain why there’s so many tapes around. They really look like they had a good happy life. This was such a good One. One of my favorite so far. They had to be filthy rich to have built-in wardrobe‘s that was just unheard of. In the kitchen they had all the latest and greatest of the time. Thank you so much! Hope you’re well were able To get out of there before the cops came.

That 'make-up desk' is an old fashioned wash-stand, from before people had indoor plumbing. People used to manage with a jug & basin in their bedroom. If they were lucky. Others got a sloosh under a backyard pump or a dip in the local stream.

Weird how the alarm in the hallway, the washer and fridge are ultra modern yet everything else is really old. Possibly a Freeview box under the TV but I don't understand why the son didn't update the TV at the same time - that TV set looks ancient! It would be quite funny if he was watching Freeview in black and white and hadn't realised we had gone to colour but at least his TV license would be cheap! Are those covid masks at 42:45????!!! Wonder who pays the bill for that heater that is switched on in the last bedroom? There are a few other electrical neons on too.

The items in the little top drawer of the cabinet are picture hooks for hanging pictures & other decorative items off of the picture rails that you see installed on the walls of older properties. Picture rails are really handy , not just for hanging pictures but for suspending plants in macrame hangers, even to hang up your best clothes while you plan what to wear for your evening out.

Looks like the electric is still on and I have noticed this In a few of your explores. You guys really should try the lights when you get into an explore instead of groping around in the dark. There is another channel that I watch and 9 times out of 10 they explore using the house lights and if the power isn't on it's usually something simple like a blown fuse or one of the bulbs needs changing. In one house they had to pop 50p in the meter lol. NB: if you do put the power on then please switch it off when you are done as the other guys do. I would hate to see a place as nice as that go up in flames.

PLEASE if you open cupboards and cabinets in an abandoned house, ensure you close them again so creatures can’t get inside and cause further damage to the contents. The jackets are sheepskin. The cabinet that looks like wine rack could be an antique writing desk that Georgians used when they travelled abroad. Sad that you covered the man’s photograph - postcard should have been replaced exactly as found. The embroidered alphabet is called a sampler. Hope a descendant eventually saves the beautiful antique furniture, paintings, and belongings. Such a shame they’re left to crumble and decay. 😢
