This challenge was a lot tougher than it looked on the internet LOL. After doing the breakfast food challenge we drove to this one. 8th day, 15th challenge for us and I was HURTING after this one. The Heinz ketchup is bottled in the UK, it's not imported from the US. It's just hideously overpriced, you can buy good quality own brand ketchup from a supermarket that's twice the size for £1.45

Heinz ketchup sold in the UK isn’t imported from the US. It’s manufactured in England. $4.27 for that bottle in the UK costs about the same as it does in the US. Not much difference at all.

Also, any item you see that's pre-priced is usually from a 'cash and carry' store. This is a wholesale store that smaller businesses buy their stock from. It's cheaper than retail for them but there's quite a mark-up from what the average customer would pay in a superstore here. Heinz ketchup is almost always on some kind of sale at various sizes and is much cheaper than the pre-priced item you have there.

Check the ingredients on the ketchup... stuff with real sugar from cane or beets is a lot more expensive vs the corn syrup; I could be mistaken, but I think the US is one of the very few that use corn syrup in kethup since it's unhealthy.

Fish is an unconventional side dish for an English Chip Butty challenge. But if it tasted good I can’t complain. What I can complain about is the number of fries or chips on this trip. At this point I’m worried you and Brandon might have exceeded the recommendation dose of potatoes. Hope you don’t get spud syndrome. Still, despite the cost and the surprise difficulty, you managed to finish the challenge. Great job, and congratulations on the win!! 🎉 Great tip with using the ketchup to cool down the food. And here I thought people ate it because they liked the taste. Or at least had convinced themselves that they did because they had to pay $5 for it. Sort of tomato based Stockholm syndrome.

We usually use the Curry sauce as the Ketchup substitute, and sometimes the Mushy peas.... Although Curry or Peas, on top of the Fish is a good service option, especially within a butty. Mansfield Town are in League One, which is 2 leagues below the top league in England. They only got promoted to that league from the league below last season. They don't usually progress much higher in their history. Although I do believe they've been playing for over 100 years.

Bob, first of all well done. But I have to ask, why not unwrap the bread before starting the timer? I know you almost always beat the time with ease, but if it did come down to the wire, those few seconds could have lost it. Bob eats one chip and says "almost done with the chips". I just love the humour. I totally agree, that was 90% a chip challenge. Even little old me could take down one of those fish portions (not both) but with zero chips and none of that bread. On a side note, I detest so-called "football" (soccer). No other activity (I cannot even call it a sport) in the world causes some much violence and trouble. Even though I have no ties to the USA, I would rather watch American Football.

Great challenge! More fun with you and Brandon and again appreciate how neatly you eat. It just never ceases to amaze me. It warms my OCD heart. LOL The fish looked great! I am with England on the seasoning. I would rather season (or not) my own food; I am in the minority as an American - I cannot stand overly salted, overly seasoned, or spicy foods and most places do that (and drown in sauce, gravy, dressing, etc). It really puts me off when I go out to a restaurant and I cannot even stand fast food anymore (that's a good thing haha). Even sweet foods have a ton of extra stuff on or in them. I laughed at the chef's reaction to you adding curry to the mushy peas, but to be honest, I think mushy peas are pretty gross, so I would make her face at her peas. No offense! hehhehehe Curry peas, while not something I would choose, is actually not that outrageous if you like curried foods (I don't but not really surprised at the idea).

My brother and I loved french fries when we were teenagers he would make a huge plater of fries and a big pile of Heinz ketchup and a whole loaf of Holsom bread we made chip buddies and didn't know it was an English thing.He is 67 now and I am 65 early 1970s😂😂
