I imagine it would be something similar to what happens with Rocky Balboa in Rocky III. He became so famous that they even released a pinball game of him, or like in real life happened with Jackie Chan, where they released several versions of video games based on him, such as Jackie Chan Adventures, Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu, etc. Another possibility is that the video game played by Terry is not himself, but a character inspired by him, as happened to Mike Tyson in Street Fighter with Balrog/M. Bison.

A cool fact i learned today, there was a character name 'Joe' in the first Street Fighter who was suppose to be the main character. The team ended up picking Ryu as the main character. The person who drew Joe wanted to make his own main character that would appeal to the American people, thus Fatal Fury, Terry Bogard was born! To think, if they didn't pass Joe up for Ryu, we would have never gotten Terry Bogard!

Terry was always an interesting protagonist in fighting games. He can whoop ass, play basketball and even play the highest difficulty on a real hardware NeoGeo MVS! I can only do 2 of those things. And it ain't basketball! Add to the fact that Terry is also a something of a wanderer (like Ryu, but a little less so) and you've got an unusual quality in that regard. Most wanderers don't have an affinity towards Arcade cabinets.... Not the ones you can read about!

FWIW. "Virtua Fighter 2 - Young Knight" and "Fighters Megamix - Theme of Lion" are the same song! The former is the original arcade version. The latter is the Sega Saturn / CD quality arrangement, originally on the Saturn's VF2 port but then later used in Fighters Megamix. :D In fact, on VF2's Saturn version, you can choose between the two.
