Wed July 17, 1985 (mid-80's) was the Barbara Walters Summer Special with Esther Williams, Jane Fonda and Sally Field. This tape is in excellent condition! Most people got VHS recorders in 1984, when they started to be a little less pricey.

The tiny bumper about 7 minutes in for the interview with Leonard Lake's mom sort of drives something home. The commercials and shows aired on TV portray an idyllic time without worries or cares, and for quite a few people, they were. There was still a huge amount of darkness lurking underneath the 70s and 80s. Part of me wouldn't mind watching that interview too.
