You are correct, life is too complicated now, I went to buy a light bulb could not believe how complicated that was, used to be screw in or bayonet, I actually left the supermarket without it, I was totally bamboozled with the whole thing. Have a good day. Xx

And you have to go to several shops to find the right one, sometimes needing to drive to an out of town store. How is that environmentally friendly?

Really interesting and helpful especially like the idea of the book such a great idea to have all your vital information in one place it would be very helpful for whoever’s left behind and anything that makes a stressful time easier has to be a good thing, many thanks👍🏻❤️

Have just taken your ‘ say no’ tip……I have been struggling to fit in all the stuff that people seem to want me to do. It’s not that I don’t want to do it but I don’t want to be controlled by it. So, todays invite for lunch tomorrow, when I’ve already been out every day this week, was politely declined and re arranged for later in the month…no offence was taken and I still have the trip out to look forward to. Thanks Caroline.

That book sounds brilliant! My Father died in November and my sister spent a day going through his paperwork as my Mum’s death certificate was needed for probate. She got very stressed trying to find it. Turned out it was at my brothers- in my Dad’s funeral plan. Lesson learned that it’s best to get everything together.

Thank you very much for a very interesting and thought provoking vlog,I really do need to sort my life out and get organised with sorting paperwork out.I think life is certainly more complicated these days .x.

Re Junk mail… tip is to cover over with a sticky label or scribble over your address, turn it over, write “return to sender, delete from database ” and circle the senders address. The PO will return to sender… This works well for say holiday catalogues etc. Just recycling the paper doesn’t stop them coming!

I'm going to take your advice and try to streamline my life in those ways...wish me luck! The death book is a really good idea, very helpful for those left behind in their grief. I love your SIL's idea and will definitely look it up, it's such a thoughtful idea. Especially voice messages, I find the sound of a loved ones voice, is forgotten first.

Caroline, this was a very interesting video, another one that applies to most of us, doesn't it? Perfect timing at the beginning of the New Year as well to give us time to change our habits for the better!! Thank you 💕

Great suggestions here Caroline. I'll definitely be taking some of them on board. Decluttering is something I try to do often. I used your idea of setting a number of items to get rid of and it really works. I'll be doing that again shortly.

Hi Caroline. Thanks for this information. I’ve started to declutter (and guess what - 2 charity bags sitting in the hall 😂😂) I’ve already paid for my funeral (about 3 years ago) so no issues for my children there since I’ve already said what I want for cars, flowers and music. Going to look at that Death book to see if it can further help with sorting out my life 🙋🏼🏴

Absolutely loved this thank you Caroline. The gas meter man used to cycle round to empty our gas meter. We shopped from local butcher and green grocer. Your suggestions are brilliant. I have a filing system in my email too. My parter has 18,000 emails in her inbox. I have ten. She can live with her system, I’m a clear out and file it woman. Decluttering is definitely an ongoing job. I’m trying not to buy unnecessary “stuff” too. You’ve inspired me.

I used to always use fabric softener in the wash. I had an issue with the washer and the repair man told me it was really bad to use softener, evidently it gunks the machine up. Nice smelling dryer sheets are good enough for me to use.

Lots of good ideas. I think it must be harder not if someone dies and you have to sort things out. With my mum I found copies of all her utility bills and her bank account ,phone bills etc,so knew who to phone and get them paid and cancelled. Nowadays theres no papertrial as everything is online. What if you dont know their passwords to get into all the bills and the bank. Just before Iwatched Carla's video I had bought a lined book to write all those things down in. I'll see how I get on and might buy the book at some point.

Loved this video thank you I watched Carla’s video too and have ordered that book I need to start planning to make things easier for my sons when I pass away Going to also get a funeral plan sorted out I’m also starting to declutter as I don’t want my sons to have loads to throw away after my death I remember how hard everything was for me sorting it all out when my parents died I also in last few years have learned to say no. I don’t do things to please others if has to make me happy Some have been a bit surprised but they have got used to it now I’m always polite about my refusal but I’m putting me first at long last x

Thanks Caroline. I'm a little scared of my virtual assistant 😂 only use to set alarms when cooking but I will use more definitely. I have been in a Spanish bank all morning trying to close my late aunt's bank account..everything is complicated here in Espana. Very stressful indeed and still not closed (and I'm being charged quarterly on a deceased account!). Anyway thanks a million. Got a jigsaw and a diamond painting on the go x

This video is so useful. With regard to savings accounts, I’d say check your interest rates. You can start off with really good rates, then after a year they plummet.

Thanks for the tips Caroline, my partner and I did a "death list" last year, gave so much piece of mind. Certainly agree with unnecessary complicated things - it's toothpaste for me. I know I need sensodyne as my teeth are sensitive but do I need whitening too or gum protection, enamel protection and /or cavity protection??? The cheapest will do !! 🤔😊 xx

Hi Caroline, completely off topic but I was just reading about the 192 year old tortoise and it got me wondering about yours? Has he escaped again or is he somewhere safe in your garden hibernating?…BTW excellent video I have been staying on top of decluttering clothes but need to work on my emails, it seems it only takes a few days and it’s swamped with things, most of it can be deleted and unsubscribed
