@@rattlegoat it seems like a combination of gatekeeping and jealousy, but its also a story as old as time. older generations think the way they did things is the "proper" way, and using modern tools in cheating. in 10 years everyone will have a 3D printer or CNC/laser cutter in their house, and no one will think twice about it. it will open new doors for art and innovation.

One thing to be careful of is saw dust as it can cause lung issues if lots is inhaled. That is why i have a air cleaner on 24/7 as well as a mask for extra protection.@@GenericWoodworking

As a woodworker myself, it's astounding to me again and again what others can pull off with even the oldest/simplest tools and it shows again that it is indeed real skill involved. All theses gears, circles and the tiniest parts, fitting together so perfectly in the end... To even come up with the thing in the first place... The incredible variety of skills you show are amazing to me. There's nothing wrong with not having the best tools. As my grandpa who was a woodworker always said: "you can't judge a craftsman by the quality of their tools, you judge them by the quality of their work." And as someone who ended up doing antique restoration, I couldn't agree more. My favorite coworker is this guy who is in his 60s and does some amazing work with only his hand tools that are all about as old as him.
