Idk about you guys but this speaks to me in a different way. Not waiting for someone "romantically" but waiting for yourself to heal, to have peace of mind, for the anxiety to be gone. Since that's a very hard process, that "take your time" line really comforts me. It's like saying to yourself that maybe that "peace", that "serenity", will "never be yours" and "you're trapped" in the same situation but you still hope and you slowly take your time to finally be free.

This song has been playing in my Spotify since 201*. That was the year that I broke up with the most important person to me because I knew I could cause her so much pain when she was about to enter college. I know that it was the stupidest decision I've ever made, but now that she's graduating in her dream course with honors, it makes my heart at ease. Why? Because I am always supporting her from afar and I know that holding on to her will only mean that I'll be one of the hindrances that she will always consider. I'm the one who broke our promise, but I'm also the one that is miserable. Yes, I waited for her, but it also means that I should be happy for her.
