Over the Rainbow - Harold Arlen (Arrangement)
'Over the Rainbow' is one of the most famous songs of the late 1930s.
It is an insert song for the American musical in 'The Wizard of Oz' written by Edgar Yipsel Harburg in 1939 and composed by Harold Arlen, and sung by Judy Garland.
The plaintive melody and simple lyrics of the song tell of a teenage girl's desire to escape the hopeless jumble of this world, the sadness of the raindrops, to a new world full of colors. This song also expresses the child's belief that the heavens will open a passage to a place where "worries melt like lemon sorbet".
