As far as the Kinkade paintings, if anyone is curious. I experienced someone with tons of those paintings in their house and thought it was really strange so I did some research. Selling those paintings is part or an MLM or pyramid scheme masquerading as a franchise. Seems to track with the two charlatans in this documentary.

40:00. I'd instead say that Scientology (that chart of steps) is a soul memories alleviation pseudo-therapy and exorcism practice. The chart is all the pseudo-therapy to alleviate you of your debilitating soul memories, and the upper steps called OT 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are the exorcism steps to eliminate the hitchhiking invisible souls infesting your human body so that when all those surplus souls are exorcised, they take their debilitating soul memories with them so you don't have their leakage soul memories "case" on you, and are supposedly double whammy soul memories cleaned up. Scientology simply is a long long expensive soul memories alleviation pseudo-therapy and exorcism. You will have to believe in past lives memories and in invisible souls infesting your human body, to track with the Hubbard wacky pseudo-therapy and exorcism of Scientology, in order to target and alleviate your debilitating soul memories and lose your surplus souls you never realized were bugging you. Best thing to learn about all this, is it is hooey. Save yourself wasting a dime chasing Xenu's dumped souls that infest your human body (which aren't there anyways, only in Hubbard's insistent mentally ill mind which he's convinced others now, of this supposed spiritual problem which only Scientology exorcism will fix for humanity).

I was greatly harmed by Karen and Jeffrey Augustine. I was about to jump off the balcony at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, which Karen was aware of but DID NOT contact authorities or my husband because I would be placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold which would mean I’d be “drugged” with psych meds and wouldn’t be able to receive more indie auditing from her. She claimed only she could help me with more auditing and not to get mental health help or tell anyone about my suicidal ideations. I could have lost my life due to this person. Then, when I bravely spoke up about the abuse I endured, I was silenced 🔇 to where other “famous” critics took her side because of her financial incentives. People made hateful videos on her behalf against me for money… tearing into my mental health, my marriage, my personality, everything… and then filed false police reports against me having the LAPD contact me because she donates to their department (as Scientology does) and said I was harassing her as an elderly person, how I was trying to extort her, etc (all untrue). My community amongst the exes and critics was all ripped away from me due to the fair game from Karen. I will not stop speaking out against this because she still has such a hold on the other critics and they refuse to acknowledge the harm she’s done to me. It’s distressing to me even to this day, to where I disappeared from KZbin until Doug helped me by bringing me on a live stream to welcome me back. I was well on my to following a similar path back in 2017 - when Karen pulled me into her web through pure deception and lies. Had I not become wise to what was going on regards these two though an ex reaching out to warn me, I would have been none-the-wiser. It's even worse than the abuses of Scientology. Taking advantage of the most vulnerable fresh out of the cult is a different level of evil. Karen attempted this with me back in 2017, and when I got wise to her ways and confronted her on it, she sent her lapdog Jeffrey in to attempt to 'handle' me. All he could come up with is to exclaim, "Doug is OSA!" - and then proceeded, along with Karen, to go on a discrediting campaign to the ex-community regards me, continuing to this day. The fact that Karen and her husband Jeffrey haven't ever had to answer to any of this sordid and disgusting behavior for over a decade now, and are being protected and supported by many in the 'ex' community, does indeed speak volumes.

This is so sad. Jeffrey Peixoto promised the people who were in the film that is was going to be an "exposure" type of doc., but clearly COS got to him. He has now disappeared ! All the statements and clips from those filmed for this were edited and made to give a completely different impression. For those interested, Aaron did a number of really good interviews about this. I hope people will do full research and find out what really happened...as much as anyone knows. Firstly I didn’t realize she was still such a believer in the ‘tech’ and according to Mango’s videos still audits people for money. it all feels counter to what a lot of the channels giving her a platform stand for. I’ve seen her interviewed as recently as Masterson trial (I think by tony ortega and he mentions at some point being friends with her and having stayed with her during first trial) and her husband was on Aaron’s channel yesterday. If they are guilty of the things alleged on Steve’s channel, these relationships are confounding to me. I’m still in the figuring out my own opinion stage I suppose but it is kind of blowing my mind

People are always going to have different opinions and it's easy enough to ignore negative comments or trolls. If the other viewers choose to engage with those comments then it should be up to them. I just don't trust people who try to control the narrative in this way. I'm curious about who this Goldie person is? They appear to moderate the comments on the live streams from several different creators that I've watched. Could this person have their own agenda? And if they've chosen to shadow ban you on one channel, could they then extend that ban on all of the channels that they moderate?

This documentary is a complete misrepresentation of Karen and Jeffrey. Jeffery just spoke with Aaron at Growing Up in Scientology. Karen and Jeffrey do not practice and haven’t practiced for many years. Karen son died and Scientology wouldn’t even allow them to see him or go to his funeral. They didn’t even tell her he died.

Thank you for your caring words Tawny. 🙂 Better yet, Karen and Jeffrey (not to mention the numerous Scientology content creators that have been bought off specifically by Karen to do her bidding) should be questioned at every opportunity. These two should be pressured to answer the accusations they have successfully dodged for over a decade now. Too many lies, deceptions, manipulations, and personal agendas have been allowed to carry on and fester behind-the-scene to the detriment of many people.

@@dbnc What I have seen across various sites leads me to a similar conclusion. I think there are some that think most people are stupid and can't see. Never been In a cult, but was caught out by a MLM years ago which was showing signs of a mini cult so to speak. I learned a lot from that and have been invited to take a personality test a couple of times down the years on my travels. Also had contact with at least 3 other major cults due to where I lived at the time. I see how people can be drawn in and no one is immune to them, but you can defend yourself. Thanks again

It's not a pro-Scientology film despite initial appearances. It was directed by a clever filmmaker named Jeffrey Peixoto, who gained the trust of Scientologists - ex's and Indies alike - to show how they think and act minus any 'slant', subtlety highlighting the abuses. It's slow and not everyone's cup of tea, but I certainly appreciate what he managed to capture. For more information, you can google it and the director to learn about his process and what he set out to accomplish. If I post the links here, youtube will bury the comment.

Came over to watch this after seeing Lara interviewed. I get why she is upset since there was a lot about how children were treated left out and that was her mission - but I think you have to be "outside" of scientology to get how truly creepy this is. I think the director did a really good job of showing that without giving them anything to sue him over. "Religion by electricity" sort of covers it... and it can't hurt more kids if people see it for what it is and stay away.

It’s as if they didn’t have enough material for a full hour documentary so they put in a ton of filler (aka B Roll footage). You would think with a robust, vast & multifaceted topic such as this, it would be the opposite, they would have to leave a lot of meaningful content on the ‘cutting room floor’ in order to reduce it to an hour. This documentary had so much potential, there is so many issues, topics & angles they could have continued to explore more or gone into, yet they just start to scratch the surface & then put in arbitrary, generic B roll footage & filler content. I would love to hear the director explain why there is so much generic material spliced into this film. Maybe, for whatever reason (legal, threats of lawsuits, rush to production/deadline issues etc.,) they had to take out a significant amount of the material they film & thus were left with little relevant information to work with.
