Could you explain the reason(s) for the concave and the convex concentration profiles in the films?

Stefan diffusion (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jImsqHShn76Agq8): Non-linear "Convex" or "concave"? Think linear and then bend the gradient in the direction of the convection (as in 2nd video above, specifically at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jImsqHShn76Agq8?t=232) (I myself would not use the terms convex or concave here since you can change the appearance by looking at the setup from a different direction)
