I would disagree with the statement that this game is not graphically advanced. It is *very* graphically advanced, it's just not advanced in realism.
@featdirty1127 Жыл бұрын
It’s one of the reasons this game might age quite well if Bethesda manages this game well. Highly cartoony graphics means that becoming ‘outdated’ is both harder and less impactful. It’s why something like the Borderlands series is still relevant despite existing for well over a decade now. And it’s by far one my my favourite ways of making a game interesting
@rogue8146 Жыл бұрын
depends on your personal definition, advanced could be technologically advanced, it's high quality and sharp so definitely advanced in that sense, though some people might think of graphical advancement as being moving toward realism
@shiv3rcubesolver664 Жыл бұрын
@@rogue8146 yeah, that was my point. The game is pretty graphically advanced but it's using all of that towards reinforcement of the style it wants instead of maximizing realism.

The strong stylistic choice will mean this game ages a lot better. In a few years, some of the game we consider "realistic" will look quaint and outdated by the higher standards, but games like HiFiRush, Jet Set Radio, Dragon's Lair, all still look good today

One thing I didn't hear you mention here is that the characters are usually animated at a lower FPS during the in-engine cutscenes, while most of the environment and camera movements remain at 60 FPS. TLDR: Correction, tweens are not in-betweens, in-betweens are the in-between frames of an animation in 3D or 2D, Tweens are specifically interpolated 2D in-between frames. Small correction, tweening isn't the process of making in-between animation frames, tweening is specifically interpolated frames in a 2D animation program usually made with a 2D rigged object. This kind of interpolation is the default in 3D animation but it's not called tweening. it makes a lot of sense to interpolate in 3D because there's very little guess work in what to render (because the object can rotate, scale and translate in 3D space) but when you use tweening you're asking a computer to guess frames between 2 drawings by resizing and rotating a 2D image (this was made before AI could do art), which is why tweening is different form regular 3D animation interpolation. Tweening is a process used to make 2D animations faster not a process every kind of animation uses, in-betweens or in-betweening is the process of creating secondary pose frames to support the key frames (aka literally putting in all the stuff that's supposed to be in between your key frames) and it's necessary for all kinds of animation. I understand the confusion because the words are so similar and basically mean the same thing on the surface but the big difference is that you can always turn off any kind of interpolation (which is necessary for making more cartoony animations, especially in 3D and it requires more manual frames) and do every frame manually (aka frame by frame animation or old school animation) but there are interpolation tools that will help you fill the in-between frames automatically and allow you to work faster, tweening is an interpolation tool for 2D animation. Basically in-betweens are all frames in between your key frames and Tweens are 2D interpolations of your 2D key frames (made with a 2D rig), you always need in-betweens but you can't always apply Tweens.
