Your sandbags would just be a temporary defense. It is not sturdy and would not last long. When the bags will rot those sands would just be washed away. A sturdy dike is costly better go up and live far from the river to be safe

Mai you better change the route of the water canal which passing behind your house, dig another canal straight down to the big creek to avoid damaging the foundation of your house 🏡 this sack bundle of sand can prevent water damage from the disaster but the best way is to plan how to change that route not to cause more water damage behind your house,think about it

Bem , acho que o certo seria fazer uma boa fundação em concreto com pilares usando ( vergalhão ) aço , com colunas , vigas mais altas e uma boa laje . Mas se não moram aí , assim deve durar mais um pouco . Acho que ao construir em àreas onde passa àgua , devem avaliar que chuvas fortes trasnformam rios em mares de lama , portanto , devem avaliar a destruição do local e planejarem uma construção mais firme e sólida !

One thing you might think about doing once the rainy season is done, is to line the ravine besides your house with brick and cement. This will help prevent the erosion that is currently happening under your home by the force of the water. Weather is changing and hitting harder with climate change as you unfortunately have experienced. Someone mentioned deepening the river channel, which may help. Unfortunately much of this was caused by someone wanting more land so they filled in the other low lying bank. The water then spread into you properly as it was the lowest area. This unfortunately will continue to happen.

Sand bags are not long term solution. Either move to higher ground or build higher thick cement pillars either 4 or 5 feet so as the water will not flood into ur house. Wooden house after a few years of flooding, the wood will rot n go back to square one again. Waste all energy n efforts.

I have been watching a lot of these vidoes over the years and my concern is that people have been changing the landscape by doing a lot of unnecessary excavation. What they don't realise is the fact that water is a powerful force and will find a way out and that's where the flooding can happen. So my advice is be very careful how you plan your construction.

Oh gosh you both did a good job with that fence, but I am worried that it won't last a long time, so try and figure a way to place a pipe or something to get the water from flooding up your walls. It is so sad there is so much flooding in your area. That food also looked delicious, I saw a stupid bug on the soda bottle and I was worried it was going to drop in your food. I know and realize that all of you have suffered losses in your family, but the biggest loss is probably Kong. 3/4 of the bridge was taken away by water, so much work, effort and money wasted with water. Something terrible, so much rain hasn't happened here in a long time. The weather in Europe is also unpredictable - it's not hot, it's downpours and storms - there have never been such sudden changes in weather before. Climate changes are very big. You've secured it well, but when the wave of rains passes, you need to think about how to move the water away from the house and give it a channel farther from the house.
