I don’t care what others think of me. Never had. Couldn’t care less about praise or criticism from others. That is, in my head, something of theirs and not mine. I don’t even care what I think of others, as I don’t know them more than they know me, and that my opinion of them changes all the time anyway . But, what others think of me makes them act towards me in a certain way, and then, it becomes important, as this can sometimes have big influence on my life. And what happens is that if people catch on it, that I don’t care, which happens occasionally even if I try to cover it, they will go a step further, and then you have to deal with the mess of it.
