Have you been in a season of crashing lately? Well that's us. We headed over to Knapsack, one of DM MTB's local networks where he showed us around and gave us some pointers on attacking obstacles. DM talked us through some of the biggest accidents he's had in his life... which also happened to be here at Knapsack. It was so great to see how he's gone back to attacking these features.
Feel free to leave us any comments and let us know about your crashes / how you conquered them.

Deadset Trails awesome!!! Hope you have a good location in mind. We have a race coming up at Green Valleys. So we will be riding up and down that mountain down there on sat. Mill Creek is the best place for learning big jumps. Hit The Turps!!!

@@PedalCrusaders Good luck in your race! There's a spot about 30mins north of us that has some decent reviews, so we figured it would be a good place to start.

Why do I MTB? I have been mountain biking for almost 25 years. I started in my early 30's when I lived in Winmalee, riding a MTB which no longer exists . MTB rides were solo and full of prangs, crashes, etc (I was still bullet proof back then) and mainly to Grose Head South Lookout via Springwood Ridge, Shaws Ridge, Blue Gum Swap and Bees Nest trials. Then I invested in a Specialised FSR, met a like minded MTB fanatic (Pete T) who also had a Specialised FSR. MTB rides galore commenced between us taking into the above ride, plus, tracks behind Warrimoo Oval, The Oakes, Andersons, Dural / Hornsby, etc, etc, rides occurred on most weekends pending respective commitments. It does make a big difference having a riding partner with you as it challenges you to make decisions that you would not normally do when riding solo. Pete T's speciality was riding downhill with no fear; full tilt down Shaws Ridge and Bees Nest was not a problem for him, mine was endurance, ie; "time for a rest?" "Nope, keep going I'm feeling fine," he didn't, but he lives to this day :-) Thumbs up to your video "Overcoming Crashing - Knapsack Ft. DM MTB." It highlights the trials and tribulations of MTB riding in difficult terrains and how to overcome it. Impressed with Dave, DM MTB knowledge of the tracks after all his prangs, crashes, etc and to pass on his wealth of experience on what lines to take down the downhill section of Knapsack Reserve, it just adds to the goodness of this video. I'm now living in Glenbrook at the ripe old age of 58 with my trusty Merida. Still do the occasional MTB ride taking in Andersons, The Oaks including the single tracks, Mt Portal via Tunnel View, Bennetts Ridge via Euroka and of course Knapsack Reserve minus the downhill bit. I've walked parallel to it on a weekday and watched yours and other You Tubers go down this track, nope, it's not my cup of tea, I'll give it a miss, plus, prangs bloody hurt at my age (that's the mental block for me). Keep up the great work guys.

Michael R ahhh good question... we haven’t spent much time at Knapsack, this was just our second ride there. But most trails there I think is on trail forks. There seems to be loads of good people about there that I’m sure would be happy to show you about. Have you joined Western Sydney Mountain Bike club on Facebook? That’s probably the best way to get in touch with the locals from Knapsack. Cheers for checking out the video!
