Overcoming Loneliness When You Want to be Married-Stella Sicilia Testimony

Loneliness was a constant part of Stella Sicilia’s life. She desperately wanted to be married. Growing up in a large, supportive family, she had always assumed that she would marry at a young age. Years passed. Loneliness plagued her. Still she remained single. When two of Stella’s younger sisters married before her, Stella questioned why God would allow it. Don’t I deserve to have a husband like so many other women? she wondered. She tried to overcome her loneliness, but ultimately found herself questioning whether marriage was in her future. Though she continued to date, a long-lasting relationship never came to be.
As a Partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, Stella realized, in time, that her intense desire to be married was a symptom of a deeper longing in her life. The love she truly craved was that of her Heavenly Father. This realization led her to turn to Jesus and the Word of God in a more personal, profound and persistent way. She relinquished her dogged pursuit of marriage and instead focused on her pursuit of the Lord. As her relationship with the Lord grew, she eventually came to know true peace and contentment that allowed her to overcome loneliness.
While Stella remained open to finding the love and companionship of a husband, she no longer allowed the desire to be married to consume her life. Today, Stella is engaged to a long-time friend, a man who shares her commitment to the Lord and her love of music. Though she admits that the relationship with her fiancé is a wonderful addition to her life, the relationship that brings her the most joy is the one she shares with the Lord.
