For all you pregnant mamas I want to say I’m a survivor of having a extreme fear that I was going die during birth . I was afraid of the whole process 🥲Especially the needles. I spent my whole pregnancy in stress & fear . I couldn’t control it & it was so strong . When I finally gave birth it was more calming then I expected , I wasn’t in to much pain due to getting the epidural. It’s a mindset thing and honestly as women our body’s know how to do this . Enjoy your pregnancy queen you where built for this ❤️❤️❤️ I thought birth was something but post partum hit me more hard . One year later my body is back my mindset is even more strong and all I gotta worry about is chasing a one year boy 😂😂

As a black woman in the USA the odds aren't slim to none. I've lost 2 friends in their childbirths and had 2 others narrowly survive due to medical neglect. Just a thing to be aware of. The stats are staggering and it's terrifying even with with incredible access. I've been trying to figure out how to get out of the USA and still make sure I have a black nurse &/or doctor &/or doula &/or midwife just so they will take me seriously. That trust is so difficult to find. Just one negligent nurse with a small amount of implicit bias can cost a life. That's why I'm here at this video. I'm so terrified.

Hannah J. Brooks You’re absolutely right Hannah. It’s unacceptable that black women in the United States have such an increased maternal mortality rate. I can’t even imagine how much stress that must add to the prospect of childbirth. I’m currently reading “Battling Over Birth: Black Women And the Maternal Health Crisis” and it’s staggering how severely the implicit bias you mentioned can impact the birth experience and outcome. I would love to provide you any support I can. Feel free to reach out to me at baileygaddis@yahoo.com if you want to discuss further ♥️ sending lots of love.

I completely agree. When I stroll through my “What to expect” app && I see that black women are more likely to die during childbirth it’s like.....🙄 well thanks! That didn’t help the anxiety at all. I do find myself trying to avoid any negative things about childbirth tho. Crazy thinq is I’m on baby #5, no birthing horror stories thank God, so idk where this has come from.

You are so right and it makes me so mad that black women, even the ones with the best care, are at risk. Beyoncé, Serena Williams, two very healthy black women with clearly the best care, had terrific experiences. A friend of mine just died during childbirth, she’s white, had no problem, no complications, but it happened. I really wish black women would get better care, it’s inacceptable the difference between white and black maternal birth. I’m so sorry for your friends and hope that if you get pregnant (or got pregnant), you’ll get the very best care and be safe honey. 🤰🏾👩🏾‍🍼❤️💕

I almost cried during this video. You're so understanding of the fear and the psychology behind it, which makes me feel understood. I'm having my first child here soon (just started my third trimester) and I've been trying to explain that I'm so terrified of dying to anyone and it's the same response, "You'll be fine". That NEVER brings me comfort, it just feels like I'm not being heard. But between this video and hopefully getting to start therapy soon, I'll be able to work through my fear and become a mother. Once again, thank you for making this video. Most people don't seem to understand that it's not just the physical part that I worry about, it's also spiritual and mental. And if you can't calm those two, then the stress takes a toll. Bless you for being here, making this video.

im only a teen but ive always had a fear of childbirth which is both because of the pain but mostly because of dying - as i have a general fear of dying anyway. im both very family oriented yet also very independent in the way i want to live if that makes sense. having a family isnt my main focus, my main dream is to travel, live free, experience things, festivals that kinda thing. however once im more older i wouldnt mind settling down because i do love kids and i would love having my own child.

Oh my goodness this was God bringing me to your video! I have 3 beautiful children and me and my husband want to try for another. The past couple of months I have been battling the fear of dying during childbirth. It would be my 4th csection...the googling started with information on that and then it led me down a rabbit hole of everything that can lead to death (most things I didn’t even know were possible). I literally was crying to my coworker today over the fear, which is silly bc I’m not even pregnant yet. I so badly want to add to our family but I’m worried the fear/anxiety is going to completely take over my life for 9 months. This video definitely helped ease my worries a bit :)

I'm currently pregnant with my first, and am doing my best to avoid any and all horror stories or negative stories about birth and pregnancy in general. I have my first ultrasound in a week and I'm going to talk to my doctor about my concerns. Part of mine has been because I have had some health issues that no one has been able to diagnose as of yet and the more extensive testing has had to be put on hold now that I'm pregnant. I know I have modern medicine on my side and I know I will be in the best place possible if anything were to happen during birth, but I still have this fear of having a brain aneurysm or stroke or some undiagnosed thing being triggered or something because of pregnancy and birth. I've been trying to not think about it and have done a good job so far of maintaining peace of mind and a sense of calm as I know stress is not good for me or the baby. Ultimately I want to be a mother more than any fears I may have about it all. Thank you for this video. And any other things you can recommend to help me work through this is greatly appreciated.

Okay my fear is in the fact that 1, i nearly passed out one time when my period got really bad and i started to sweat and shake and I’m pretty sure it’s also cos i have hypothyroidism but will get that checked out 2, that i have low pain intolerance and 3, that I’m highly sensitive and have been all my life I’m pretty sure. So all those factors make me fear I won’t make it or will pass out and somehow that could kill me or the baby would get stuck or idk just fear of dying in general and I’ve always been more scared of pain than death itself, so I’ve always feared pain, so thank you for this video

I have a phobia of giving birth /getting pregnant. I've never mentioned it to any one other my sister whom I've trusted to talk to when I'm going through something. It's not easy growing up with this phobia cause my family support the idea that a marriage is stronger if both partners have a child of their own. They think that your partner will leave you if you don't want a child. I really love children but it's a fear I can't get over. I refrain from telling my family this cause they have their own belief and they won't be that supportive.

trusting your provider is good but you never have them actually deliver you from what I’m told so what about trusting the hospital? Nurses and on call doctors who you don’t even know and everything you feel is considered “normal”? Trusting them to not overlook a potential serious complication.
@BaileyGaddisDoula
@BaileyGaddisDoula 2 жыл бұрын
That largely depends on the set up with your doctor. If they have a private practice they may guarantee that they’ll be the one to deliver the baby, as my doctor did. If they’re part of a group of doctors they’ll likely guarantee that one of those doctors will be the one to deliver the baby. Essentially, this is an important conversation to have with your care provider. And regarding an on-call doctor or the nurses overlooking serious health concerns, that’s possible, but unlikely, as they should have your medical records which would inform them of any health issues you might have.

I feared death with my daughters pregnancy back in 2018 and thank God everything went fine. I thought the second time around I would be more relaxed but it's definitely not the case. The thing that scares me the most is Amniotic Fluid Embolism. It's the only thing that really scares me because if it happens death is high. I'm 20 weeks this Tuesday, half way through already. I know I need to stop googling but I keep thinking I'll find something that will ease my mind that will let me know I most likely won't have an Amniotic fluid Embolism. It scares me knowing you can have one perfect birth then your second , third or fourth birth you can have a reaction to the amniotic fluid (AFE). What if that happens this time around since last time went smoothly? I also read Pregnancy with a male fetus is a risk factor or someone with allergies or atopic eczema are more likely to have this complication(along with other Pregnancy complications) it was proven in a study %40 had make fetus and eczema or allergies(I have a male fetus and eczema). I realize life is like that you just never know when it's your time and your more likely to get in a car accident I actually was in a car accident at 13 weeks .it was pretty bad but we both made it out alive. We are so lucky🙏❤️ ) my husband keeps telling me I'll be find I'm overreacting. He was right with the first birth and I hope he is about this pregnancy. I would hate to leave my family behind

I had the occasional baby fever but would be like no but we are good with one. ) and my husband also told me that if I abort that's a tie breaker.(he was so mad at me). Even though it wasn't a planned Pregnancy he says the same all will be okay, that I'm overreacting again. So here I am 29 weeks pregnant with baby #2(I have a 2 year old daughter) and I could have this baby 11 weeks or less. I'm terrified but not as bad as it was especially when there was talk of possible thyroid issues or Gestational Diabeties but thank god second tests came back okay. The only thing that's helping me to an extent is staying off google and stopping the looking at statistics the last couple weeks or so. Reminding myself I did it once I can do it again and just opening up to my husband, family and OB. I know I'm driving everyone nuts but it helps to get it out. I also try to keep busy I have taken up crocheting and that helps abit since I am not on my phone. I made my soon to be born son a blanket and I'm going to make my daughter one. I'm finding i am more calm , all my thoughts of possibly dying will always be there because I messed my mind up with to much google. I am reaching to the point like I did with my first pregnancy that the baby is coming wether I like it or not. Chances of everything being fine is high but I also know anything can happen (I'm afraid to think to positive so I'm trying to be on the fence about things ) I just pray every day as well that all goes smooth. I hope you can figure out whats the right thing to do and if it's only fear that's holding you back maybe you shouldn't and just embrace it. Face the fear. It's really scary but we got this! I'll update you if all goes well obviously (im sure it will but like said never know ). All the best ❤️

10 out of 10 dies, but there is hope. When you die, you are going to stand before God and give an account for your life. Because God is good, He is going to judge you according to the perfect, moral standard of His Law. If you've ever lied, stolen, or taken His name in vain; He will find you guilty of breaking his Law. Because God is good. he must punish your sin; and the punishment for all sin against God is eternity in Hell. But God is also merciful, loving and kind in that He provided one way to escape that punishment; and that was through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ: fully-God and fully-Man, without sin. He Died on the cross a death He did not deserve, in order to take upon Himself the punishment you rightly deserve, for your sins against God. And then three days later He forever defeated sin and death when He rose from the grave. What God requires of you is that you repent (turn from your sin and turn toward God) and by faith alone, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Repent & Cry out to Jesus our only savior today!!! He can save you, He will save you, even if he doesn't save you... Cry out to Him! Please do it today!
