I don’t mean to speculate too much about song meaning cuz I don’t want to be presumptuous but for anyone curious here are the meanings/symbolism behind each kind of plant mentioned: -wildflowers: joy -lilies: varies, but overall purity, innocence, and rebirth. Commonly associated with funerals and death for that last one. -candytufts: indifference, beauty -lavender: femininity and elegance -rhododendrons: positivity, however it should be noted that it is also known as a highly invasive species -marigolds: cruelty, grief, and jealousy, and a flower related to the Mexican holiday dia de los muertos -daisies: innocence and children -bluebells: gratitude and humility, or sometimes everlasting love. Bonus tree - Willow: hope, belonging, and safety. Again I don’t wanna assume but I do think it’s pretty interesting how each plants symbolism can change the meaning of some of the lines! Like Marigolds really threw me for a loop

yeah, it kind of reminds me of my ex...they weren't stalkerish but they were clingy and codependant which led to them becoming unintentionally toxic. i did everything i could for them, gave them everything i had despite everything i was going through at the time but it wasn't enough to keep the relationship stable because you can't truly love someone if you can't love yourself. that relationship taught me that lesson.

This song is so nice! My Take on the story/meaning is: A Childhood Friendship that slowly starts to fall apart, but the person leaving tries to reassure the other because “I’ll do anything for You”. The Candytufts are actually someone or something else that the other person Wants or has Interest in, pretty much Forgetting about their Old Friend. At the end they separate, not without both of them being harmed in the process (Bloody Hands and Ankles, the Crown of Marigolds, representing Grief and Loss that other caused) Other little details I noticed are: - Lavander. Maybe the person singing has Romantic feelings for their Friend and wants to be Noticed -The Vines holding the other person, signifying the Other’s resistance to letting go of them -The Willow, Safety, but they’re still Withering away. They might be Fine but they can’t Live without their Friend Most of this is from personal Experience and reading the different meanings of these Flowers

This just gives me a studio ghibli vibe. What i think its about is, that this girl finds out she can turn into a pixie. Then she finds a pixie village and falls in love with a long haired boy. They have this deepening relationships (platonicly, from the boys pov) then the girl starts to doubt there friendship because she is half human and the pixies in his village don't like her so they kicked her out and she doesn't want to cause trouble for the boy but then at the same time she thinks he'll leave her (that will hurt her more). The boy starts seeing the girl distance between him and he starts feeling these emotions, he doesn't really know it. But he really doesn't want to feel this way so he just blurts it out how he feels and the relationship starts getting better (and romantically 😉). The next day a truck comes and tears down the village but the pixie boy gets everyone out in time. Soon after he dies... The characters of this story are actually some of the oc's i created for a story. But the old story wasn't that good or the plot. But this song gave me inspiration for a new plot, Thx.

My baby sister absolutely loves this song! Lately I've been letting her sleep on top of me when she seems really tired and her cradle's being borrowed by my spoiled little brotherxd and during those times I've always played music for us to relax to but never really found the one we both feel really at ease with. Then I came across this song again! I've listened to this ever since it came out and now play it whenever I let my baby sister sleep on me and she always sleeps so humbly unlike with the other songs I've played. Little story i wrote while listening to this. Love the song, its beautiful. I do feel like my actual interpretation of the song doesnt really go along with the story but oh well. I pick each flower meticulously, making sure the colors match. "Your favorite color is yellow, right?" I ask, as i pick a few yellow flowers and I add them to the flower crown. "Yes." you say, watching me intently as I work. I add different colors but leave the main color yellow. "Could you get me a few tiny roses?" I ask from my seat on the ground, glancing up into your green eyes. You walk to the mini rose bush and pick a few. "Ow!" You yelp, blood trickling down your hand. I stand up and hurry over to you, the marigold flower crown in hand. "Are you okay?!" "Just a prick." You reassure me, sticking the bleeding finger in your mouth. "You have to be careful, love." i place the marigold flower crown on your head as i look at you with a worried look. You take the flower crown and place the marigolds on my head instead, bloody hands retreating soon after. "Yellow looks better on you, darling." I grab your hand and lead you back to the table of sweets and teas, picking up a napkin and wiping the blood from your hands. "I'll make you one of roses then." I say once the blood is gone, "just sit and rest" You do just that. "I shall make your crown now." I say as i turn to walk back over to the rose bush. You grab my hand before I go, pulling me back to you. "Don't leave." You say, me now standing in between your legs, your arms around my waist, face pressed against my stomach. "I'll never leave you, love. I would do anything for you, you know that." I say, placing one hand on your back, the other on your head. "You smell like the home I never had." You say, the lavender scent from my hair is as strong as always. "Will you leave me?" I ask, wondering if you'll leave me behind someday. "I'm never gonna leave you behind some day, because I love you and I would do anything at all." "I love you too." "I'm tired." You say, holding me tighter. "Let's lay under the big tree." I say, getting up and grabbing your hand. We walk to the tree and lay beneath it on a blanket I lay out, holding each other. I fall asleep after a while, beneath the willow, with you in my arms. I awaken with no one but me in that little overgrown garden.

Growing up really changes my point of view about friendship. It used to be so pure, so innocent, non-materialistic (at least for me that's how it was). But as all things, friendship has its backlashes. Putting your trust in someone means you sacrifice part of your security, time, and some benefits for exchange of happy moments together. Relationships can be overwhelming, but try observing who leaves, who comes, and who stays is really a game-changer. Im so sorry. I don't want to sound like selfish or like get over it or anything like that... but I understand completely. I met a really good friend online, and we had so much in common, and we were helping each other. But, I was just worrying about her too much, too, too much. To the point where it scared me. So, so much. I now know a lot more than I should, but I think that was going to happen either way. Eventually, we both talked about it, and how we couldn't talk anymore. Just not at all. It was a hard decision, but in the end they told me that they were happy. Truly happy. I almost cried. We both had, and still have happiness problems, but we're getting over them, bit by bit. She has the person who makes her happy, and I have mine. We check up on each other, every few months. Even though, in the end we had to split ways and part, I still am so, so happy I could have that experience. It helped me grow, and I feel so, so very good about it. I'm still a bit scared when I think of it, but oh, I'm so, so happy to have the experience that I did. I love you sis. Even though we had to split ways, your still my sister, *no matter what.*

this song - ive listened to it all day today (srsly. for like- 6 or 7 hours) and im just gonna say that to me it sounds like its from the point of view of a child who lost a loved one (the last few lyrics) and that the kid doesn't quite understand the concept of danger/death (rhododendrons, like you said signified danger) and the thorns could signify being held back or some sort of fatal disease (like cancer or something, i dont know) - the 'crown of marigolds' being the last item given by the lost loved one before they passed on whilst saying that they'll always be by the child's side no matter what. The willow tree to me is like a grave. the last paragraph is from the child's point of view a few years later, finally understanding what death is. Dude this might be completely wrong but id. because this song is literally amazing

I've always loved this song, always will. It's just so soft, sweet, and nostalgic? Just reminds me of the better times, man, I don't know. I just love it, man. I discovered this song several weeks ago. I was very mentally unstable and hiding all my emotions, this song helped me cry and saved me from an ocean of emotions i hid for a long time. I went to therapy after that and i start using anti-depressions after a long time. This song reminds me of an old friend of mine who left me after so many years. I was deeply hurt but I couldn’t do anything I didn’t even tried to do anything because I thought they might just got bored of me even though they were the most important person in my life at that time. I thought i was in a similar position for that person, but i was apparently not. I loved them. i really did, and that hurts the most. I’m trying to get better thank you for helping me cry i feel better thanks to your gentle and calming voice ❤️
