I don't think Mirio knew Overhauls' quirk when they first met him in the alley... maybe he did? If he did then yeah he and Deku probably could have taken him. If not, then it's up in the air. Either way there's no way civilians wouldn't have gotten caught up in it, so they didn't have a choice.

That's what I like about mha. Usually you have a main hero climbing the stairs from zero, and in the end, the villain appears as the final boss. But here, you have the main hero and the main villain both starting from square one. That's what makes this series unique.

True, Shigaraki's character development is really impressive. By the end of MHA, Shigaraki will have climbed to the Shonen Villain hall of fame next to Madara, Frieza and Dio, although you could argue he kinda already is there (maybe not at Madara status, but definitely at Dio level of fame)

I half agree that they could have taken him in the alley. The only thing Id have to argue is how many Civilians might have been around. Overhall could have used them as shields/cover/hostages to keep atleast deku away and maybe escape to get open playing feild and/or back-up which again would have strained both of them.

I understand what you’re saying, but they were in an alleyway. Deku speed/agility combined with Mirio’s power and fighting experience should be enough to subdue him without him getting a hostage

@@s.c.6989 I can see that, the only thing that could factor into that play would be how fast he reacts, and/or if he touches like a wall or floor to stop atleast on of them. I can't remember if they fully knew is Quirk at that time, so it may come as a surprise to them but IK Mirio would react better but it still mean they may get split up. Thinking back on it if he played it right and got deku in a hold, bare handed, he technically could put Mirio on the back foot to protect either the girl or Deku. long rant IK but I always play devils advocate in a way of how much damage COULD the bad guy do.

Deku is growing on me but Mirio's fight was better in my opinion also.
