How many turns on the springs? What size are the springs?

Man its been a few years ago, I'm not sure, I would need the drum size, and amount of ,or approx weight cable length, wire size to do the calculations, I think I added, 1 round on one and 1/2 round on the other, in addition to what was already originally installed on them.

@@squid5651803 How many do you typically add from scratch? Just as an example.

@@daru250 it all depends on the dynamics involved and flat drums, or progressive drums, like this door goes straight up, then like residential they go up and turn back 90degrees, as the door goes up and turns the weight is distributed one panel at a time to the horizontal track, so the springs dont have to maintain the full weight like they do when they are rested closed. Lets say a 7' high door with conventional 90 degree horizontal, it usually takes 7.5 rounds of tension, 8' takes 8.5 or thereabouts. The vertical lift in this video may take, 10,12,to 14 turns, it depends on the drums ,weight, cable length ect. So many variations, I can point you to a company in chicago that has really good basic tutorials if you are needing more info. And I know some other youtube channels that can help, depending on what you are trying to accomplish. I've been doing this 30 years and still learning.

@@squid5651803 Great , Im an apprentice here in Cali. But still havent ventured on Vertical lift doors only standard lift residential and a few high lift residential.
